I've got a loud band here in Melbourne Australia. My name is Dan Francisco Fenelon and my hard rock band plays original music, but always when we jam, "like a hurricane " is first on the list. I'm a baby at 35 years old. our bass player is past the 50's, Joe, guitarist 50(he likes pink floyd, so we have to play it sometimes!!!) And Ronny the baby at 28 years old. I'm a singer song writer / welder. I actually build racing cars but I'd rather play guitar. I live at the foot hills at the only mountain Melbourne has. Lots of gum trees and very cool! I'm just getting people, anyone of interest to jam with me, and all my life found that its hard to find people with any motivation. I rent a house and workevery day, and built up a home recording studio, and jam room. We would be the loudest garage band in Australia, with a 10 000 watt rms Pa system cranking out Neils tunes throughout Melebourne. The old man across the road from me(77) will bash on my door if we sound like shit.(he'll acually say what the xxxx you guys on? sounded crap, get back in there and try again) Otherwise every one likes and accepts the tunes cranking evry sunday for our jam.
Neil young has been a great influance in my music and even if I play an indian sitar to a dance techno track I recorded, everyones says it sounds like Neil"s lead break.
Well Thats one thing Neil has'nt done.(Sitar techno) I did it as an experiment. I did'nt really like it but everyone I know say its the best music I've recorded.by the way folks, I'm a Welder /fabricator by trade and I dont have a fancy studio. All my gear is very old! I've got a 16 track reel to reel, a big old American mixing board built in 1976 10 000watts of P.a system hand crafted speaker boxes and an amp rack of about a ton.Big and loud, perfect for an out door concert that was reported to be heard 22 miles away. For me, perfect to jam with my freinds playing our tunes at home, Cortez the Killer, Fucking up ect. I record on computer as well and use a program called "Samplitude" Just a real cool multi track system that I like anyway.(simple, Just a recording system)
But any hobby , the price of gear you need, the sky is the limit. I dont have the 2000 pound Newman mikes, I get by by experimentation, and Ive stunned world recording engineers with my basic set up. Any way guys, we are jamming every week and some of my freinds are starting to come around to film things. We could have a dvd out there soon for anyone interested.
I'd like to meet Neil one day, just to shake hands.
Anyone interested in my Band, or jam film project, you can email at dansampedro@hotmail.com Hope to hear from you guys, and play music loud! Keep Neils Music Alive for ever! Dan Fransico Fenelon.
great concert but one i've seen many times before,at 180 a ticket I thought I was paying to hear the stellar tunes on chrome dreams, but he played none of them no bluebird no boxcar no shining light
he sends out the cd with ticket purchase but then dosen't play any of the great tunes on it.still super kickass rock and roll but I was paying to see the new material performed. but with the majority of his fans willing to worship his farts. he know he can do whatever he wants-- at least pegi's set was fresh
EARTH TO NEIL EARTH TO NEIL the name of the albun is chrome dreams 2 the name of the tour is chrome dreams 2 but you don't think it neccasary to play the great songs from this new release in concert. thats why i went and paid out my ass to do so. then you just deliver the songs you want to play and don't even bother playing your new release. what about the fans who have seen these songs so many times in concert before.
for 180 a ticker don't you think those fans deserved to hear your new material. I paid for bluebird/shine the light and boxcar. not the loner and heart of gold again why neil why I want my money back
The Toronto Tuesday night show had a good cross section of Neil's 600 song catalogue. Ten songs by himself and another 10 with the band with a least 4 from Chrome Dreams including an incredible version of "No Hidden Path". The intermission gave fans a chance to walk up to the stage for a close view of his Neil's vintage gear. Someone must have given him a new train building for his layout. It eas perched on the speaker next to his Fender Twin and Deluxe amps. My wife and two grown kids had a blast hearing this legend play us through a magical night.
Just be happy you were there and saw him, stop winging. Dan Fenelon.
I'm Sonny Craig, and I created something called "The Neil Young Thought Experiment."
I don't know how to submit this for the page, so would the editor please review my link and if you like it you have my permission to post it to your site, and use it in any way you link, with proper authorial credit given. I do not do anything for profit, so I'm not making anything on this, just like Neil Young.
Thank you
