Neil Young helpfully offered instructions earlier on how to delete one's Facebook account. Likewise, TW helpfully offers as a PSA "How To" video on how to delete your Facebook account.

In the latest development in Neil Young's long running battle against social media Goliath Facebook, Neil has announced that NYA is "Days away from dropping social media platform" on "After Facebook" | Times Contrarian | NYA.
In addition, it will cost nearly $20K to disengage from Facebook.
While no specifics were given, NYA will attempt to make the Facebook termination transition as easy possible for NYA fans.
As covered here previously on TW, Neil Young has been in a long running battle against Facebook -- most recently -- due to Facebook "screwing with our election".
This has all been very somewhat troubling for Neil Young fans, especially for those Rusties On Facebook, given the demise transfer of Rust@yahoo to Rust@Groups.

Long time readers know quite well our own troubles here at Thrashers Wheat with Facebook, social media and Rust. But as we've urged Neil Young and many, many rusties, disengaging from the corrosive mega tech giants is the only option to avoid the brave, new dystopian Orwellian world and embrace the inevitable #BigShift.
In November 2019, Neil Young announced that "Facebook is Toast at NYA". And we said: "Congratulations Neil." Should've been done long ago. Facebook has been Toast to TW since 2015 and we could not be happier about it. (More below on the history of FB & TW. Short story: FB suspends TW and the long slide of FB begins. So note carefully Tech Giants like YouTube and Twitter.)
Writing on Times-Contrarian | NYA, Neil Young wrote that he will be discontinuing use of Facebook due to their "obvious commitments to one side of politics".
Again, this announcement comes as no big surprise given Neil Young's previous editorial statements about the Tech Giant's unethical and predatory behavior. (See Neil Young Calls Out Big Tech ... Yet Again) Just earlier this month, regarding "The Facebook Dilemma", Neil helpfully offered instructions on how to delete one's Facebook account. Likewise, TW helpfully offers a "How To" video on how to delete your Facebook account.

The issue of tech giants and censorship has come up previously and it appears to have reached a cross-roads -- not just with Neil -- but with virtually all things internet related. In February, Neil Young wrote that tech giants rip off artists, who are being forced to distribute their music in the digital world. (And this is just one more reason why we sing this song because we love the man.)
Tech Giants, we the people, do NOT trust you. You guys have blocked us, shadow banned us, de-monetized us, de-platformed us, memory-holed us, and harassed/trolled us relentlessly. But all of your efforts have failed -- we're still standing. Enough.
