While
2022 was Year #3 of the concert tour hiatus, Neil Young did manage to make
the most of it and definitely made it memorable. Between the heartwarming
intimacy of the 1971 documentary film "Neil Young: Harvest Time"
At the moment, everyone can relax somewhat because Thrasher's Wheat will continue to celebrate Neil Young,
his music and the fan communities. So stay tuned for some hopefully
exciting announcements in the months ahead as we celebrate our
remarkable little milestone as the2nd longest running music blog in the history of the
internet.
Our work is far from done. So we'll see you down the road in 2023.

Maintaining a robust, healthy, engaged community that allows open, honest and free speech is paramount for us here in Neil / RUST & TW grain communities. There is simply nothing whatsoever which is more important to us and what we do and stand for. Again, thank you so much for reading our articles, sharing them
throughout the web, and contributing your own thoughts through comments
and messages. Today, more than ever, we need independent thinkers like
you folks out there in the rustie-grains village that rely on a solid moral
compass – not a pre-determined agenda – to understand this circus, to stand up, to speak up, and to fight for what is right.
Lastly, if you would like to support what we do here at Thrasher's Wheat, you can make a donation on PayPal link below:
Only your credit card is necessary to apply directly & securely. No PayPal account setup necessary. (NOTE: A portion of ALL donations also help The Bridge School, Farm Aid, Musicares, and other worthy causes.)
On a positive note, we have rebuilt our mailing list subscription on a new platform. If you have not subscribed already, please do so by going to this link:
Mailing list subscribers are eligible to win cool Neil stuff on contests we run on occasion. No spam. We promise. Again,
if you can't support TW financially, the next best is to share our
mailing list and encourage other Neil fans to join the "Grains
Community" here @ Thrasher's Wheat.
Thanks and again: everyone enjoy your holidays and Happy Neil Year!!!
As noted in our report last month, this year's Farm Aid concert in Raleigh, North Carolina was a wonderful day to be out with so many music, food and farm lovers.
The
day started with an early morning Press Conference of the Farm Aid
Board making their annual plea on behalf of the plight on the family
farm crisis they have been facing for decades.
Here is the full press conference featuring Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Margo Price, as well as, many farmers and farm supporters.
Normally, we would start our little review with a standard opening line of "this year's Farm Aid concert in Raleigh featured yet another great Neil Young performance".
But alas, no Neil this year -- although his spirit hovered about throughout the day.
Neil & Me ... not

Regardless -- even with Neil's very conspicuous absence -- we had a stellar day with our awesome FarmAidian friends and the other 20,000 or so music, food and farm lovers.
The Long FA Weekend Begins!
It was sort of weird to go to a Neil Young "concert event" like FA but without an actual Neil performance. Sort of like having a warm beer or something where a very key ingredient is missing.
All that said, it was a wonderful day to be out with so many music and farm lovers.
The day started with an early morning Press Conference of the Farm Aid Board making their annual plea on behalf of the plight on the family farm crisis they have been facing for decades.
Willie Nelson, Farmer, & John Mellencamp
During the Press Conference, Farm Aid announced plans for ‘A Major Farmer Mobilization in Washington’ in March 2023. Farm Aid will team with the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition for the biggest D.C. gathering of family farmers in decades.
Farm Aid Board Members Margo Price & Dave Matthews
In other major Farm Aid news, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay presented Farm Aid and John Mellencamp, with a $1 million check donation.
Farm Aid 2022 Concert - Raleigh, North Carolina
It was a beautiful day for a concert and Carolinians came out in force for Farm Aid.
Charley Crockett
Charley
Crockett was definitely a new breakout artist for us. Catch him if you
can for sure. Crockett's retro roots country set was about as REAL as
you can get.

And Chris Stapleton and his band just brought the house down. Everyone was in the house and on their feet for his throw it down set.
Farm Aid Director Carolyn Mugar & Willie Nelson
Willie Nelson is a gift to humanity and just to be in his presence -- along with his sons Lukas & Micah -- is an act in restoring one's faith in humanity.
