That's a disappointing interview in Uncut - nothing new there.
any news about bd-live, Archives 2...?
Wow, La Johnson (and what a disrespectful moniker that is) - so you already knew all about the Archives moving online (for better or worse), and "Le Noise" starting out as a Horse album, and the Florida incident with Ralph, and Amber Jean and "The Painter," etc etc? I'm truly impressed.
@La Johnson - yes, as others have pointed out, your handle strikes us as distasteful.
Can you elaborate on your handle choice?
Archives online = death of the project, death of all the good promises & preambles, death of most of the interest.
of course it's just my opinion, but I love my Vol.1 bluray.
About NYA on internet...
Music has to be concrete, not just virtual. What about quality, quantity, videos, movies? What about everything you said 3 years ago? Archives have to be completed and they have to last. Music must lasts. Now you have the technology (the Bluray platform) so just update it and improve it for vol.2.
I really hope I can keep on buying the bluray boxes, the PS cds, and any other CONCRETE release.
And I'm still hoping for other bd-live downloads...
Archives Guy... please let us know about this mess...
Peace.
The "Uncut" Archives reference is pretty brief, and rather cryptic:
He's working on moving his "Archives" project to the Internet, and insists that "eventually everything will come out."
I'm hoping it's some sort of supplement to the physical product, and not a complete replacement. Kind of looking forward to stacking all those big boxes together someday to spell out "Neil Young."
Ok. Keep calm. :-)
"We’re well into shooting the discs and getting the video ready for it and the interactivity and all of the content,” Young notes. “There’ll be different formats it’ll come out in besides Blu-ray this time that are the same resolution but new formats people haven’t seen before. There’ll be some Internet-based distributions that’ll be interesting."
Billboard interview 2011
disrespectful moniker - always used it even before his death, get a life it's meaningless. Don't take all of this so serious - what Neil says one day will ne changed the next. Archives 1 was such a shambles let's hope he's learnt from those mistakes.
I live in LA and my name is Johnson - I'll change it if causes offence - dear oh dear.
