Neil Young is on the cover of the August 2012 issue of Uncut Magazine.
In a world exclusive interview by Jaan Uhelski, Neil Young says: "You can't worry about what people think. I never do. I never did really."
That about sums it all up. Words to remember, indeed.
Neil Young sheds light on Americana, his next album and his time with Crazy Horse in the new issue of Uncut, in shops from Monday, July 2.
In the cover feature, Uncut visits Young near his home in California to hear more about Waging Heavy Peace, his upcoming memoir, his treasure-trove of unreleased albums, and just why he was inspired to record versions of US folk songs on Americana.
Crazy Horse are also interviewed in the piece, and explain what it’s really like working with Neil, waiting for his call, and being his longest-serving and most legendary band.
"I spend money as soon as I get it," reveals Young in the piece. "I don't care how much money I have, I can use it to do something. So I don't save money."
The new issue of Uncut (August 2012, Take 183) is out on Monday, July 2.
Looks to be a fascinating interview as the Neil roadshow journey continues...
Thanks Guy!

Neil and The Jesus and Mary Chain in one magazine??? This must have been published just for me! Thanks for the heads up!
Uncut the best music magazine by far since it was born in the nineties .This UK tomb has consistently reviewed Neil Youngs output over the last fifteen years or so in a way/style that the other magazines ain,t come near .Great ,good ,ok.poor or crap [not many of the last two]their consistency and continuity of recognising Youngs mercurial talents is unmatched in the rock /pop critic area .Allan Jones the editor,s opening page gets right to the heart of something .Long may these guys run .
As The Word has just folded it's important for UNCUT to keep going. In the interview Neil mentions that The Toast record with CH record will be with us very soon - recorded at the same time as Are You Passionate....oh dear
What's the chances of that double cd of new songs later this year? It will be shelved for Archives 5 released in 2081.
"You can't worry about what people think. I never do. I never did really."...That my friends is Neil in a nutshell.
He doesn't really say Toast will be out soon. He says "It will come out, because it's done. I mean it's ready to go. It's not a perfect record but it's really an essential record. But I don't want it to get in the way of what I am doing right now. There'll be a time for it".
I read that as its status hasn't changed at all and as we know, Neil always has something he is "doing right now".
@july archives - agree that great music mags are getting harder to come by. Support indie mags at your local newstand.
@sugarmtn - thanks for Toast update. Toast is becoming so mythical that its going to be hard for folks expectations.
kinda like CH's Americana expectations...
There now is an introduction by Alan Jones on Uncut's site:

What else is revealed in this interview? Who knows when the Mag will be available across the pond. I need my dirt!!!!
