Reports from the shows? Anyone?
Had a great time last night. I don't mind a set that treats buffalo springfield, sleeps with angels and mirrorball as the linchpins! As luck would have it I got stopped in the crowd just as Neil's train/bus pulled out clanging and whistling after the show.
Celebrity night at the Greek, Spinal Tap, Breaking Bad, Bing Bang Theory, ER actors, and other sightings
Dunno but I’ll be seeing him at the other Greek tonight. It would be super cool if he did Interstate since it just saw its first digital and wide release. That tune would be perfect for the set he’s been working with this summer. I always expected that one to be a hard rockin tune since it’s been billed as a Ragged Glory session take. But now I’m seeing that it and Boxcar were slightly later on the timeline, and the Horse had already shifted gears. See you all at the show tonight!

@ Tomatron : Ya, Interstate is a different breed than Ragged Glory. I got the Big Time single which had Interstate on it so I am familiar with this version. Yes, why not play it live? Or does this a Train theme exclude (the) interstate?

The show was great, and we got a double encore! We lucked out for sure.

On the way there, I ended up having to turn around on Treasure Island after missing my exit in the maze: "In the wrong lane, trying to turn against the flow"
Neil mentioned how he bought his big "burnt" grand piano in Berkeley in "nineteen seventy something", as the first thing he bought for his new house on the ranch. "It was the cheapest one they had" because of the fire damage, but "it's still strong". Also bought the pump organ in bay area at a "pawn shop that might have been a furniture store".
Comes a Time was nice cherry on top, it was all great !! Very intimate for 8000 people.

Neil's show at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles was a bit dull. He could have taken the opportunity to embrace an intimate experience for his audience, but he missed the mark. He shuffled around the stage switching between acoustic guitar, piano, electric guitar, and organ which was paced oddly. He played a short 90 minute set which only shows me that Neil's getting old and he certainly didn't perform like the perfectionist he used to be.
