Thank You for Supporting Thrasher's Wheat
We would just like to take a moment to express our deep appreciation to all of those of you who have supported Thrasher's Wheat over the past few days -- as well as, those of you who have supported us over the years.
In response to our semi-irregular
Words, such as these, by the oh-so delightfully handled ShittyHorse:
Thrasher, what you provide to us Neil Fanatics is truly invaluable.
I visit other "Neil Sites", and Thrasher's Wheat is by far my favorite, not to diminish others, just my personal preference. You've created a strong community here, where Neil fans can talk everything Neil- from news and events to albums, songs, concerts, personal experiences and feelings, band members and other musicians, but most of all you give us a place to gather, to show our numbers, and be with others who truly understand why Neil's music touches us in such a profound and meaningful way.
I think it's safe to say that we all, even the most critical fans, appreciate the hard work and dedication that you and Thrashette put into this site. Times are tough, which is why your site and others like it become more and more important- it provides a much needed escape at times, entertainment, information and always puts a smile on my face. Even Neil Young himself has recognized the importance of Thrasher's Wheat.
You are part of Neil history and, in turn, Rock n' Roll History.
From here on I'd say any definitive book written on Neil's life and career would be lacking if missing a Thrasher's Wheat reference- you've been a liaison between the fans and the man himself. What you do is important and appreciated. Never loose heart.
I've made a large purchase this morning on Amazon through this site, as I always try to do, which I hope helps out. Of course it is a small thing, but if all your readers did this same, one small thing I'm sure it would help out a lot.
Again, thank you for your hard work, and devotion, not only to Neil but also his fans.
Happy Holidays to you and Thrashette!
Thanks SH! And Happy Holidays to you as well. We appreciate your kind words of support. Always and sincerely.
And thanks again to all of you who support what we do here at Thrasher's Wheat ... separating the wheat from the chaff so that you don't have to... ;)

Very eloquently stated ShittyHorse! I echo your satement and consider Thrasher's Wheat the definitive online Neil Young information resource. A tremendous archive and wealth of information here.
What Gilliam said.
A Friend Of Yours
Love the Wheat Big Time.
Could someone - anyone - please explain what the hell is the deal with a DVD release of 'Trunk Show'?
How long is Mr. Demme going to just sit on this and not release it? What kind of marketing/business model is he following? It must be the one where you give a bunch of press and interviews on an upcoming project and then never put it out...
Put on your colors and run come see
Everybody says that music's for free
Take off your clothes and lie in the sun
Everybody says that music's for fun, yeah

well, so is Thrashers Wheat and so is Neil.
But it ain't free.
Sh. Horse you nailed it to the fence post.
Co-signing what the others have said. I know I'm thankful for this site; even though I've only started posting recently, I've been reading it for years. The only other website I check for Neil news is the man's own. And the warm welcome I was greeted with once I did start participating is one that I haven't found on other artists' fanpages. Sometimes there is a cold, cliquish, "I'm-a-bigger-fan-than-you" mentality that serves to exclude newcomers. That's not the case here at Thrasher's Wheat, and let me thank y'all publicly for that.
And HOW in the world did I miss Neil's kind words to Thrasher's Wheat?! Wow. Just wow. After a cursory scan of the comments on the Facebook posting, I can understand why y'all might have wanted to hang it up when all that went down. But I'm sure glad you didn't. :-)
Ya know Mel, from the first time I "discovered this site" I fell in love with it, to the point of obsession.
My wife could not ever appreciate my infatuation and love for anything Neil but I accepted that.
But, to find a site with like minded devotees and fans to a man that I have absolutely admired and respected as a singer/humanitarian/rebel and philanthropist to his causes since I first heard his music some40 yrs ago, was an amazing find for me.
I know Thrash has never really seen eye to eye with my quirky and sometimes silly comments and I accept that. But I have always maintained a respect for what Thrash has here and realise his thankless passion and support to uphold this wonderful site be it time consuming and financially draining is second to none and over the short time, I have supported him both financially.
and openly promoted him to other Neilers that have not been aware of this site.
Sadly, thrash had the misconception of me as not being a genuine person and a lover of this site..and over this period I reluctantly accepted his attitude toward me as being some sort of 'sockpuppet'.
I have never wanted any recognition of being financially supportive in this whole period but rather take a backward step of anonynmity but have always identified myself in any comment I have made.
"The great rebellion" earlier in the year where accusations of integrity and credibility flew thick and fast..and... even though I have the skin of a rhino..mud sticked.. and some comments and assumptions doubting my character and sincerity to this site really hurt me.
I am not and never have been, a 'troll' to this site and have always enjoyed the interaction.
As I have said so many numerous times before., i love this site and would genuinely not want to see its demise.
for reasons that are personal and not really relevant i don't visit as excessively as I used to..but i have really appreciate the post troll culling where it seems only the truly dedicated fan is now commenting under the madatory registration system.
to this end,I wish you, Thrash all the best for you continual success in running this wonderful site..and feel anyone with just an ounce of respect and support of this site would get behind and financially support it to keep it alive.
yours sincerely
luv doc
p.s. wishing all my Neilfriends, I so genuinely appreciate, whom I had made over the period that I have visited, all the very best!!
Thank you all for your kind & generous support!

Doc, I don't believe that Thrasher holds you in any more or less contempt than any other blogger who visits this site. Most of the time it appears that you're speaking on his behalf as it seems like you are far more critical towards yourself without any provocation from Thrasher or anyone else for that matter. I've always enjoyed your dry, whitty sense of humor. And although he reserves the right, I don't think censorship is high on Thrashers list of priorities. Like others who frequently visit this site, you just add a little more color. And what is the color when black is burned?
Thats the question of the day ... What did Neil mean by "What is the color when black is burned" in the context as it is used lyrically in the song 'I Am A Child'?
I believe it's a cross of himself and a fox
but is he really the unforeseen danger?....the keeper of the key to the locks? I ask you?
loner doc
Chief..thankyou for your kind wordsi know i have made many wheatie friends since coming here and by no means want to give the impression that I am some sort of victim ..far from it..I'm usual the oe that encourages this self abuse!..my personality is how i am...I wear my heart on my sleeve..and my head in the clouds! lol
I really missed the inane, banter sometimes..usually only instigated when threads start getting heavy and comments and retorts start to getting a bit personal.
there has been some classic banter to that end hey..The "feud" between Neil and lynard skynard, which became a major political football of nort and south mentality
its one thing about you Americans is that you take your politics soo seriously but this is not the forum where some music comparison should generate into an absolute shit fight.and i'm sure thrash sometimes deliberately starts a thread that he knows would obviously antagonise and create arguments..but hey.healthy diverse debate is what life's all about so I embrace contentious issues to debate..a bit like tennis..pretty boring until guys like mcenroe came along..don't you think..life always needs a rebel .even if its to break up analness and banality.
keep on debating in the free world!!
xxdoc
... Exactly!
Great job Shitty. You always have the right words for the occasion.
Hey Big Chief. Love the way Neil uses color in his imagery. I have thought about that many time and love your example, "what is the color when black is burned?"
There are so many examples, "purple words on a grey background", "Out of the blue and into the black". I could go on and on. It is such a prominent theme.
Sandy
You are so right, Sandy. It's safe to say that he dreams in technicolor. He does use color references often. He really pulled out the stops on Prairie Wind with 'The Painter'. Even 'Powderfinger' was the source of much discussion on this site over the 'red means run, son' as well as 'I saw black and my face splash in the sky'.
