'CSNY DEJA VU' Official Trailer
Just freakin' awesome! In UK theaters July 1. Thanks Simpson! Pre-order soundtrack album of CSNY: Deja Vu on Amazon.com. Also, see official CSNY Deja Vu film site. From Reuters - Q&A: Neil Young hopes documentary will spur debate:
Q: What do you hope to gain from the release of the film? Young: "Discussion. Debate. Open forums. And it does do that to people. You'll see what happens when this film comes out on the Internet -- you'll see people talking. It'll be interesting. It'll open up a thing, and that's what it does. That's what the music did. That's what happened in the audiences. I saw families fighting within the families, the kids wanting to stay, and the parents going, 'No, we've got to get out of here. This is no good.' The parents dragging the kid out, and the kid looking back. And we're not talking a 10-year-old here. We're talking college kids being driven out by just straitlaced fathers, the classic father image, of strength. Not much compassion, but a lot of strength."From KBS Radio "Neil Young Says President Bush Is An Idiot Who Is Driving The Country Into Insanity":
Neil Young had some harsh words for President George Bush and his tenure as a wartime president. Young spoke about the criticism that the recent Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young documentary CSNY - Deja Vu has received, telling Uncut, "We're not telling the world what to do... It's so funny what people say about us... We're not trying to control the world. All we're saying is, 'Hey this f***ing president is killing us. This f***er is driving the country into insanity. This f***er is responsible for America being the most hated country in the world right now. That's what we're saying. All I'm saying is: 'This is what I think about this idiot. What do you think?'" Young directed the politically-charged film which documents CSNY's 2006 Freedom Of Speech tour which featured material from Young's then-recent album Living With War. Young went on to explain that although he needs to air his opinion on the state of American affairs, he's not under any delusions that change will be quick in coming: "It's a different world than it was in the 1960s. I have more experience. I am not under any misconceptions that my next record is going to change the world. I'm a realist. So I just say what I feel, and that's where the Living With War record came from... I'm still standing. I'm strong. I know my strengths, what I can and what I can't do. I just go forward."More on CSNY: Deja Vu Film. p.s. This is for those who accuse Thrasher's Wheat of ignoring last week's articles of impeachment introduced by Congressman Dennis Kucinich. As if we didn't cover the subject fairly exhaustively two years ago. Move along. Nothing to see here.

"Reunion"? Yeah, well, they hadn't played since... the year before (Bridge benefit), haha.
This trailer is pretty tame compared to the other one... but I'm looking forward to the film a whole lot.

I'v seen the movie yet in the film house of the rock theater Melkweg (milky way) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.I guess it was thursday 17 april. April was Neil Young month in the Melkweg. Each day a different Neil movie.
The man who introduced Deja Vu said that it was a not official premiere and he was very happy that they were alouwed to show the film. They used gloves to handle it, so curious it was. In the film house were about 40 people. My friends and i sat in the front and we loved it. Although i didn't understand a lot of the political discussions. But a picture tells more than 10000 words. We alle loved the movie and this wonderful and very special evening. They showed it without translation and without a pause.
Says above the film is due in uk theatres july 1 yet in article says later in july, anybody any ideas which is the right one? Many thanks.
Its hillarious watching all the idiot rednecks walking out of the gig.
Can't wait to see this. I'm gonna see it the cinema but does anyone know if and when it might be released on DVD too? I agree that its a bit daft when you see people walking out during the concert - why would you pay for a ticket then just up and leave?
I know that not every american support that war but after all those years i still don't understand why you let it go.Can you imagine the damage it made in and out of the USA,how many suicide bombers it created...Anyway you know the colateral damages.I'm sorry to say but ''America'' is not the land of the free ,you're a nation under control.I know i'm gonna make a lot of people angry but you're still in Irak,no?Your kids are getting killed so you can feel free.
There's some news from Amazon... for what it's worth... Toast was there too, but this sounds a little bit more real, since the movie will be in theaters pretty soon...
CSNY/Deja Vu Live [LIVE]
This title will be released on July 22, 2008.
Audio CD (July 22, 2008)
Number of Discs: 1
Wow, 1 disc... I wonder how they whittled it down?
Haha, "Stills, Nash & Young Crosby." I see David has renamed himself.
Yeah, it might be fake again... but this time the timing is okay... But why should they release it on CD when DVD sound is much better. The only reason I can think of is that they might want to release the music only version since there's so much talk in the movie.
Only 1 CD? Why not? They probably compressed the sound a bit further... Neil loves to do this...
The concert footage at about 32 seconds looks incredible!!!!!!!
Neil's pulling so hard to hit a note...while Stephen is having a heart attack or something...haha
I can't wait to see this!!!!!!!!
The concert footage around 32 seconds is when Stills fell off the stage at Toronto while they were playing "Rockin' In The Free World."
On Facebook there's a Neil Young page with some fan videos and one is the full performance of RITFW with Stills' fall and all.
Check it out!

Hey Thrasher, there's an amazing "CSNY: Deja Vu" promo clip on YouTube with excerpts from the film over a live version of "Deja Vu!" Check it out!

Oh, and if that's official...that's a pretty lame fucking song list for the live album! Excuse the language, but it is. The shows were 3.5 hours long with 32 songs and that's all we get? They don't even have "Ohio" or "RITFW" which were the highlights at almost all the concerts! And the 2006 versions of "Ohio" were better than the version on the "Four Way Street" album. I'm sorry, but I'll be extremely disappointed if those are the only songs on the soundtrack. At least I have bootlegs of the full Toronto and Burgettstown concerts...
I just read the CSNY interviews in the latest UNCUT magazine and I believe the comments regarding President Bush were made by Graham Nash, not Neil Young. Check out page 55.
