PREVIEW: ThrashVolt Prepares to Roll for Neil Young's LOVE EARTH Summer Concert Tour

As you may have noticed, Thrasher's Wheat went on a sabbatical break earlier this year.

During this time -- besides trying to enjoy ourselves and remain above the fray -- we worked to re-imagine the Thrasher's Wheat platform and prepare for yet another re-launch of the 2nd longest continuously running website dedicated to a single topic on the Internet [i.e., Original Influencer #2].

So, without further ado, we bring you a preview of ThrashVolt (see prototype above).

And what pray tell might ThrashVolt possibly be all about?

ThrashVolt is being built in hopes of taking her out on the road this summer for Neil Young & The Chrome Hearts: Love Earth Tour.  Fully customized, ThrashVolt will operate as a mobile platform for Thrasher's Wheat with servers, full high resolution audio and a somewhat limited broadcast studio.

Our plan is to road test the technology under heavy real world conditions and then roll out a full upgrade this Fall.

And why might you ask? Why invest so much into a guaranteed money losing proposition? A fair question.  Obviously, we're thinking ahead to our coming 30 year anniversary here at TW.  It's been a long time since we did significant infrastructure updates and the systems are showing their age badly as feeds fail, links break and a myriad of daily technical challenges. 

Obviously, ThrashVolt is a nod to Neil's LincVolt, a revolutionary advance in state of the art eco-auto tech. While it is yet to be seen how much of game changer this may be for the blogging world, we're hopeful that our advances here will pave the road ahead for even greater progress.

We need to get back to our creative roots of following Neil's muse wherever it takes us and away from the routine, mundane chores of posting news, managing comments and trying to fix stuff that breaks.  It is our hope that ThrashVolt's technology upgrades will help us with separating the administrative chaff from the more rewarding and engaging wheat like presenting only the best from the rustie grains communities.  

Lastly, you might be thinking how can "I", the TW reader help support?  In terms of a fundraiser, our thinking is to have folks sponsor a sticker on ThrashVolt.  Submit a donation and earn a custom TV sticker with a Neil lyric, song or handle or whatever your fancy.  More to come.  Let us know what you think below in comments.

Hello Thrasher's Wheat Readers!

From the Editor's Desk, as folks may have noticed, yesterday's post on "Phil Ochs and Neil Young" was originally posted back in 2011, updated and re-posted.

Folks may have also noticed the extended discussion in Comments which was from back in the days of rather robust, spirited, rather polite discussions here on TW.

And while we did some time travel here on a journey through the past, we just so happened to have stumbled upon yet another blog approach. We had never been quite able to figure out the best approach to updating old posts aside from pulling content fwd with a new time/date stamp. The problem was that we lost all of the original post's comments.

So what we discovered with the "Phil Ochs and Neil Young" updated posting was a way to update the original post, put a new current time/date stamp while preserving all of the old comments. So win/win.

Lastly, some may be curious as to why we might have updated an 8 year old post on Phil Ochs?

One word: "Changes"...

We're Back! Thrasher's Wheat Returns From Out On the Beach, Back On The Grid

As you may have noticed, Thrasher's Wheat is back from our extended "On the Beach" excursion -- out beyond where the pavement turns to sand.

We hope to have more to say in the future about our adventures, but in the meantime, we will only just say that it was yet another trip of a lifetime in more ways than one. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to experience far away places and cultures.

Thanks so very much to all of our dear readers and supporters for all of your warm and loving comments which we're just returning to now. Hopefully, we can reply personally to everyone, but if not, please be assured that all of your messages of encouragement and support are truly appreciated.

So we'll just continue to keep on bloggin' -- not only until the power goes out -- but right on through the ongoing Quantum Big Shift.

A Sincere Apologies to Our Readers & Supporters of Thrasher's Wheat

Yesterday, we posted on Neil Young being in the recording studio recently.

In the post, we stated that the recording was with the band Promise of the Real along with "Storytone"'s composer-arranger Chris Walden conducting orchestra.

This was not entirely correct. Neil Young was recording with Micah Nelson only and not brother Lukas Nelson and the entire Promise of the Real band.

Once this was pointed out in comments (thanks Robert!), we immediately issued a correction and a notice that we would investigate the fact checking department here at Thrasher's Wheat HQ and make any necessary corrections.

In turns out one of our trusted sources emailed us with the Subject Line: "Neil and POTR in recording studio this week photo!" After checking various sources, photos, Facebook, Instagram, etc. we were satisfied that this was not fake news and sufficient proof existed for the posting yesterday.

As we wrote recently when challenged over "proof" of Neil Young's album "Hitchhiker", we take seriously our responsibilities to the Neil Young community. As our dear rustie friend "Expecting 2 Fly" says: "This is our journey, our self-appointed task."

Our journey, task and responsibility to honestly separate the wheat from the chaff.

To separate the truth from the lie.

The REAL from the fake.

So again, please accept our apologies and know that we're working hard here at TW to bring only the freshest of wheat to our dear readers.

Just prior to the election, we laid it all out here on Thrasher's Wheat about how a perfect storm was forming as the elite mainstream media headed towards meltdown in the face of alternative, crowd sourced, citizen journalism outing the massive global corruption which would lead towards what we have termed "The Big Shift" (see transparency and full disclosure).

For longtime TW readers, you know that with 2003's release of Neil Young's "Greendale" -- which hit us like a sledgehammer to the anvil of truth -- we have been covering the ever expanding vortex of corruption (and perversions) while trying to mix in some of Neil's activities in the areas of music, film, literature, and technology, among other assorted random musings. Again, for longtime TW readers, you know that we have been quite alarmed by the accelerating events propelling us well beyond the prophecies laid out by George Orwell's 1984 and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World. Today, we have an ever growing clamor by the elite media to reign in "fake news" that would make the crusading anti-Communist Joseph McCarthy quite proud. It is without irony, that nowhere in the establishment is there a concern whatsoever about infringing on our Constitutional rights of free speech and free press.


Officer Carmichael in GreendaleAs everyone is recognizing, the real threat to democracy and freedom is the propaganda spewing elite mainstream media which is ramping up their war on "Fake News". And the irony of ironies is that the war on "Fake News" is being waged with -- what else -- fake news.

"Fake news" is just the new re-branding of the old "conspiracy theory" psy-op. To know the mockingbird, is to kill the mockingbird.

None other than the establishment Washington Post (owned by Amazon Corp.'s CEO billionaire Jeff Bezos) published an article on "Fake News" that was immediately found to be in fact "fake" because it was sourced from the non-existent entity ProporNot.

Afterall, the esteemed New York Times committed the gravest of journalistic sins when "reporter" Judith Miller falsely reported that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction in 2003. This was epic, egregious and massive fake news. What is chaff and what is wheat? Like we say, always use disCERNment.

Open up the tired eyes. Eyes wide shut, we tried to lay it all out very specifically just prior to the election. And then clarified any mis-understandings shortly after the election.

And to crystallize our point, we made this comment using a quote from the late-great gonzo Hunter S. Thompson. That said, just as Neil Young takes no pleasure in being right yet again, nor do we in speaking truth to power. No one does. We all pray to be proven wrong.

And we won't quit, either, because we also wish somebody would share the news. We'll keep on bloggin' till our batteries are dead.

So be aware that the eternal divide and conquer strategy is alive and well. So stay calm, no fear, and rock on.
