Every time they have a presale, I get so excited, and then every time, they botch it! First there were no codes - then it logged me out of my NYA account, and when i got back in, it didn't recognize that I was a patron - it just recognized my free account, so I couldn't get a code. Then after about 5 more logouts and logins, it seemed to work again, so i did get a code for the 2nd night, but when I went to ticketmaster, it kept erasing it after i typed 2 or 3 of the 9 digits. So eventually i was able to actually type all 9 digits in 2 seconds and hit 'accept' and I actually got tickets for the 2nd night. And then they added a code for night 1, so i got a GA for that as well.
So, all's well that ends well, but man, this is not good for my blood pressure!
yeah I wont be buying plane tickets for concerts anymore.. between the horse and ween cancelling this year its just no bueno for me to spend that bread. still willing to drive to shows though
Yeah, it's always a risk, but the Capital Theatre is only about 45 minutes away from my house, and it's a great (and small) venue. I happened to be in L.A. last year when Neil started the Coastal Tour, so i extended my trip and went to the first 2 shows at The Ford. I've seen him in 5 states now, but never flown to see him. Although I did buy tickets for Oasis at Wembley next summer - here's hoping they don't break up before then.
Ugh! The Capitol. Hard pass. So many other options in / around NYC w/public transit options…
Happy to have gotten the floor for both nights. Getting a bit old for it, but you can’t beat it. This lineup intrigues me and hopefully it brings out the youth in Neil as POTR did. The Cap is about an hour by car and parking always good if you arrive early, so not too bad. Sound and acoustics are always quite good there. I’ve also gotten Neil to sign albums for me a few times at The Cap after the sound check. The RUST folks are always great too!!
Checked out the sale for The Harvest Moon benefit show this morning. Seems like there were some of the now predictable glitches at the outset, with me getting a notice from AXS site "This sale link is not valid" for about the first 15 minutes. Once I did get thru, saw GA 1 and GA 2. The former was $275 a pop, the latter was "unavailable" and no price listed. Not clear what the difference is between them. In the end, I decided to pass -- it's a great cause (Bridge School and Painted Turtle), but still a bit rich for my budget, and I wasn't all that impressed with the last pairing of Neil and Stephen at the Light Up the Blues benefit. That said, the location looks gorgeous.
I am loathe to admit this but having seen Neil with both the Real & the Horse, this show will be better…to say I’m envious would be an understatement. You need not me to say. Enjoy!
I want a demo tonight. Cassette is ok. Put it to 10.5. There's always room for improvement.
Hey Friends its been a minute, I'll have a pair of extras for the 9/24 show - either GAs or nice balcony seats, at face if someone is interested. Send me an email at RaggedGlory99@gmail.com if interested. If you're worried Thrasher or some others can vouch for me.
Saw both nights of NYCH Forest Hills this summer and thought it was the best shows since Chrome Dreams II tour in 2007 ... so to say I'm excited for these shows is an understatement. It was a long drought over covid and Neil isnt getting Younger even if he's still got it. See ya out on the road.
Thanks Thrasher for all that you do.
