Here's what we found interesting in the interview. The organizer discusses researching Neil Young and learning that Neil has a lot of songs to choose from.
Bob Dylan has published over 600 songs.
Bruce Springsteen has published almost 600 songs.
Tom Petty has published about 400 songs.
Neil Young has published over 1100 songs.
More on the ever so prolific Neil Young.
Labels: albums, benefit, neil young, songs

I know that Neil has somewhere mentioned a figure of 1,200 songs, and of course only he knows how many he has actually written himself in total. But unless he has 500+ songs that no one at all knows about up his sleeve, nobody I know can explain the 1,200 figure. In the public domain there are ‘only’ around 600-650 songs generally known to have been written by Neil. Sugar Mountain lists about 610. And even if you added in all the titles which he performed but didn’t write himself, you are not going to get up to the figure of 1,100 or 1,200. So there is something a little fishy about the figures being quoted - unless they know something we don’t! Neil might. Others won’t. I don’t want to be a spoilsport but unverified information like this quickly creates urban myths!
Fake news.
