Here's one of those "Reaction" videos that seems to be a "Trend" on Youtube these days.
Elizabeth Zharoff is a trained opera singer with extensive academic knowledge of how
the human voice works. Really great breakdown of what makes his Neil Young's
voice so unique.(Thanks Nimrod!)
While you've seen this BBC video a thousand times, the first timer reactions bring a fresh perspective.

Yeah.. have seen a few of these various "reaction" videos on Youtube for various recording artist's songs. Seems to be nothing more than clickbait. Total nonsense.

What do y’all think about the 1975 recording of Country Home? Neil says “in ways (it’s) a superior performance to the Ragged Glory version.” For now the song can be found as a video file on the NYA Sights & Sounds page. Look up the setlist and tell me it wouldn’t make for an awesome Official Bootleg Release!

I prefer Country Home 1990 to 1976 version. I like the singing matching the guitar note more.
I did enjoy watching the “1st listen” videos. Old Man vid made me cry. To see her eyes when it began to really move her was definitely worth the “click.”

Let me be clear; the 1990 version of Country Home beats all. According to setlist.fm, they didn’t play it after ‘76 until it was resurrected for the Ragged Glory sessions. I’m sure Neil has his unique reasons for comparing the early version so favorably. He seems to be leaning even harder into the “first is best” ethos with every passing year.
More interesting to me than putting the album version against the 1975 performance (not ‘76, the song had already evolved by the time they took it to Europe) is the setlist as a whole, which boasts some killer NYCH tunes interspersed with Crazy Horse tracks from the Crazy Moon record that would come out a few years later. Hopefully they do locate a higher quality source because I feel like a bunch of us would rock the hell out of that one as an OBR!
I find it really interesting to see a classically trained musician respond to such a heart wrenching song. This is far from nonsense.

Sad to see some don't appreciate what these videos can offer. True, many reaction channels are low effort click bait, but some are very genuine.
A fresh set of ears can introduce new perspectives.
Late to this but found it a very interesting watch. Her analysis of the way he sings was enlightening for me. It made me think more about what it is that makes me like so much of Neil's music.
I watched the Dangerbird video too and also enjoyed it as a bit of fun, but this one had much more depth to it. Any excuse to listen to Dangerbird again is good though! Something quite unique about it I think...
