John Scofield plays Old Man on the latest disk with his trio -- Uncle John's Band. Quite a gracious version. Although they are miles apart in playing techniques, both guitarists are great story tellers. Interestingly, for his rendering of Old Man, Scofield uses a rare fingerpicking style, assumably in a bow to the song's inventor. Nice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAmstO1IOT4
Thank you for the heads up on merchandise for the Bridge School. It’s a great cause, a worthy charity to support, and you get the “Bridge Bling!”
It has been a long time since I looked into what albums for-sale-vids are out. I know the vids can be rented on NYA, which also supports Bridge School from the rental purchases.
I was lucky to get to some of those shows in ‘95 & ‘96.
Our benevolent blog host has been to a very large number of Neil Young shows, a staggering number, so many I can’t brag anymore in this circle! I met a bunch of fans up front at Coastal who had been to a lot also, between 30-50 for several folks. Time Well spent!
