Laura Marling To Open for Neil Young + Promise of the REAL's UK and Ireland Gigs
Laura Marling will open for Neil Young + Promise of the REAL's Europe tour dates in the UK and Ireland.
Laura Marling has a long history with Young - she learned to play the guitar by playing along to 'The Needle And The Damage Done' at six-years-old.
She also supported him for a handful of shows back in 2012, telling For Folk's Sake:
"I was so nervous and so completely dazed by the whole thing that I don’t remember that much. I know after the last gig my band went in to see him, and he was very sweet and then I came in and just stood there gobsmacked for about five minutes then was wheeled out of the room."
Here's Laura Marling on Neil Young & Crazy Horse's Americana:
Laura Marling spoke with The Weekly Feed's Kyle Meredith while at Bonnaroo 2012.
In the interview Laura shares her thoughts on the new Neil Young & Crazy Horse album Americana.
From a Paste magazine interview on 2010:
Paste: Has there been a high point in your experiences over the past 3 or 4 years playing music?More on Europe 2016 Tour Dates for Neil Young + Promise of the REAL.
Marling: I think recording this album was one of the best times I’ve ever had. I was just with people I was really comfortable with. I had recently become really comfortable with myself in my own skin. It was just such an easy process and it felt so much like what I love to do, and it made me realize how lucky I am to be doing it. So that was a real highlight. And then, also when we toured with Neil Young for a couple of days in Europe.
Paste: What was that like? Are you a big Neil Young fan?
Marling: Yes. It was crazy and terrifying. There was one interaction. He was really friendly, but he has been touring for forty years, so I assumed he wouldn’t want to be bothered. But my band all went up and talked to him, and then I got drunk and ... he was perfectly polite! He was lovely.
