"In 30 years, we’re going to thank the First Nations if they’re able to stop this," he said, adding that Alberta is going to "look like the moon" if oilsands development continues. As for the criticism that he’s ill-informed on the subject, Young was the first to admit that he’s no authority on the effects of Alberta’s oil production, but pointed out that "your profession doesn’t limit your freedom of speech," adding "it’s OK if you want to dismiss me because I hit a power chord."

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the reviews about this tour. I hope Winnipeg gave him some love, love, love!
I love when Neil hits those power chords! More love to go around for everybody!
"...Scenes of my young years were warm in my mind. Visions of shadows that shine until one day I returned and found they were the victims of the vines of changes
The world's spinning madly, it drifts in the dark. Swings through a hollow of haze and a race around the stars. Journey through the universe ablaze with changes.
Moments of magic will glow in the night all fears of the forest are gone. But when the morning breaks
they're swept away by golden drops of dawn of changes..."

WAKE UP WINNIPEG AND SEND US SOME LOVE!
why send love when the guy is just a self serving con artist.
he should stick to his muse which second to none
Neil wrong fork in the road, get back with horse or let out the jack white duo album, doing a tour with him would be one for the ages

No Goin Back, Flying on Ground or Birds. Those were my favorite parts.
Jack White duo album? That could be quite interesting.

WOW! Thank you, Anonyman.
Jack and Neil's vocal comfort range is almost identical to Joe Hunter and Tim Hardin so I totally get the influence.
What is the concert on 28 January at nashville listed on sugar mountain??
Is it the release of Young's & White's cover album???
That would be a blast to hear live, both together.
Looks like he'll be there on Ben's behalf (Keith, not Young, that is): http://www.nashvillescene.com/nashvillecream/archives/2013/12/31/neil-young-billy-gibbons-brenda-lee-and-others-to-appear-at-musicians-hall-of-fame-awards
" A left-wing lobby group in San Francisco wired $55,000 to the bank account of an Indian chief in Northern Alberta, paying him to oppose the oilsands.
And sure enough, that chief – Allan Adam, from the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation – earned his money. Last weekend, he flew to Toronto to sit on a stage next to Neil Young, the folk singer who was in town to demonize Canada’s oil industry.
Now, $55,000 might sound like a lot of money to pay, just to rent a politician for a day if all the chief did for his money was to appear on stage in Toronto beside Neil Young. But to the Tides Foundation, it’s well worth it. Think of Adam as an actor, hired to play a part in an elaborate theatrical production.
Neil Young had his role: he’s the American celebrity who can draw crowds of fawning Baby Boomer journalists. But at the end of the day, he’s just another millionaire celebrity. When he talks about the oilsands, he quickly reveals himself as a low-information know-nothing."

Shame on you Neil !
Shame on you, John EH Connelly, for bearing so much malice toward Neil and "Honor the Treaties." I hope one day you can see the Tar Sands to experience the incredible loss of life, devastation, and environmental destruction.
I have been to Fort Mac and beyond , have you ?
Has Neil Young been to Hiroshima after the yankee bomb was dropped ?
Shame on him for comparing the two !
This is about an aging old millionare rock star who has lost touch with the common folk .
The common folk are preached to by a staged self serving rich man who has never held an honest job or voted in our country , and has burned more oil living his lavish life than any Canadian driving to work or enjoying his three weeks holiday ....... and he has the nerve to preach to us !
Get gone , and get out of our Country !
@EH: This is from NY:
"To [you] and the multi-personalty bile spewing personae you have created.
You have tenacity. I'll give you that.
You are well versed in the Preston Manning school of media manipulation. But your methods are old and tired. Just like your politics. We all know who you represent. We are not stupid. That's your fundemental flaw - you underestimate us. We are Canadians. We read. We know things. You have no moral compass.
I have nothing but disdain for your tactics."
I speak freely as an energy consuming working class Canadaian who has long enjoyed the music , and burned lots of fuel to travel to the various 32 concerts over the last thirty-five years .
I'm just getting tired of the anti everything thing .
Just stop preaching to us !
We are not the fools he degrades us to be .
Yes, John. I have been there. My husband was meeting with a group advising on the benefits of investing in a cleanup vs. monitoring back in the 90s. He presented a cost analysis of clean up vs. monitoring.
I also have family in Edmonton and I am a long time Oiler's fan spending my my summers out west in Jasper and Banff. I have family in Medicine Hat so we do that drive from Edmonton, Jasper, Banff, Calgary, and down to the dinosaur museum.
Beautiful country. Adds 5 years to my life every time I visit.
You degrade your own character by acting so foolish. Asking Neil to separate his music from what inspires him shows the limitation of a primitive thought processes.
This tour was about aiding a special group of people who have a long history of being cheated by the Canadian government.
We all share the responsibility for not hoarding or degrading our natural resources. No one is taking away your need for oil or wood to fuel your home and car. If your prices go up, it's because the oil companies are gaming the industry and buying off the government.
