It Has Come to Our Attention That Some People...
for Neil Young & Crazy Horse Concert Tour

It has come to our attention that some people have been talkin' us down. They bring up our name, pass it 'round. They don't mention happy times. They do their thing, we'll do ours.
So, before we just walk on, we'll come back to that, and hit much more important matters right up front here.
First -- and foremost -- a sincere thanks to all who have supported Thrasher's Wheat Radio Goes To Europe for Neil Young & Crazy Horse journey! We couldn't have done that without all of our loyal, dear readers' and listener's generosity and confidence. Folks who welcomed us into their homes sight unseen. Folks who donated extra tickets for nothing more than a shirt and button.
A Neil Young Story
The Europe adventure was a journey to the heart, mind and soul. Past, present and future with old and new friends.
As we went In Search of the Holy Rail, we discovered The Magic Love of A Very Hot Night in Paris. To say it was all momentous would be the understatement of a lifetime as the TWR crew hit 4 concerts in 3 countries in 5 days. Exhilarating and exhausting, we wouldn't buy, sell, borrow or trade for anything different.
Anything.
So back to something that has come to our attention that some people have been talkin' Thrasher's Wheat down.
with WBKM.org crew Eric & Tony

Here's why this doesn't bring us down. In the interest of full disclosure let us attempt to clarify a misunderstanding. Our fundraising efforts were not so that we personally could wrangle a free trip to Europe for Neil & The Horse. No. Our fundraising efforts are an attempt to re-coup the expenses of our non-profit partner WBKM.org. Just to be totally clear, the Thrasher's Wheat website paid all expenses for the radio team from Burlington, Vermont -- airfare, hotels, food, beverage, and tickets. It adds up, let us tell you.
Rusties Jam in Amsterdam
And the t-shirts and buttons are being used to defray these expenses. Please remember none of this money is going to us (thrasher & thrashette) - we are providing European coverage at no charge whatsoever to you -- our faithful readers and loyal fellow Neil fans -- and will continue to do so without any payment. Both Thrasher's Wheat Radio and WBKM.org are non-profit-making entities in the sense that every penny received is plowed back to produce t-shirts, buttons and sponsorships until costs are recovered. Now, let us be honest and tell you here that it'll take a whole lotta shirts getting moved for us ever be made whole on all of this. But that's OK as we continue to see the vista and hear the muse while providing high quality wheat news that our readers demand from this mostly chaff free blog.
So if you hear some people talkin' us down, please let them know where our hearts are and that we're watching out for the greedy hand, greedy hand. Then, just walk on.

And the Crazy Horse Personnel: Neil, Billy, Ralph, & Poncho:
"Crazy Horse personnel would like to wish you all a big thank you tonight.
We hope you travel safely when you leave this building. We hope to see you somewhere the next time. We know some of you have children, and we hope they’re home sleeping soundly without a worry in the world, ready to have a good time tomorrow. And we do know we’re lucky to be here with you. The next time we meet we may not all be here so let’s thank each other for being here tonight.
From all Crazy Horse personnel, our entire crew, we want to remind you; don’t leave anything behind because tomorrow someone else will be here."

Hi Thrasher,
it was a pleasure to meet you 'in flesh & bones' in Paris, and, again, thank for what you do for Rusties through your blog!
Trust me for not letting people talkin' ya down!
Cheers,
Nicolas
Hi Thrasher,
I just want to say thank you for all that you do. I log on to your site everyday to read news about music that makes me really happy. You don't have to keep updating, but you do. And because you do there's some good and interesting news for me pretty much everyday. Everyone has their detractors (even Neil Young does!) but everyone has their supporters too, so I thought I should speak up. You do great work and it's a pleasure to take 5 minutes everyday to see what you've put together.
Thank you very much!
PS, I was born in Ontario and I'll be seeing Neil and the Horse in my backyard in Dundas at the end of August, can't wait!
Thrasher,
It was a pleasure to hang, sing and dance across Europe with y'all on the trip of a lifetime in pursuit of Crazy Horses and Euro-rusties!
Always remember that those who can, do... and those who can't sometimes make unwarranted attacks from behind the anonymity and courage provided by their monitors.
One small point, it's Cathy with a "C," soft and round not hard and angular... ;)
Keep on keepin' on, let the critics sit alone.
Peace and love,
Ron
Love And Only Love
Well, for me, it's been apleasure to meet you and everyone else, and I hope there will be a next time.

you give great coverage of most things Neil. I don't think Ive ever thanked you, which is long overdue. So Thank you Thrasher/Thrashette. Ive enjoyed reading many of the slams lately, its entertaining. Its like when your sittin there watching a ball game. Its just more fun if you have fans of both teams present. I wish Id been there. I would have traded the show I saw in Rotterdam 09 for another Alchemy one. So keep on keepin on and long may you run. PS, never occurred to me you may finance your trip on someone elses back. You don't seem the type.
For all that you do for Rusties around the world, we thank you; and, I for one really appreciate this site of yours that does such an exemplary job of keeping us informed as to what's going on in Neil's world. And as far as I'm concerned you certainly deserved to go over to follow the band and have a great time doing so.
The promoter of the Neil Young & Crazy concert at the RDS in Dublin has (unbelievably) brought it on himself to publicly defend NY&CH's gig after the backlash from disgruntled NY "fans" who didn't know they were going to a Crazy Horse concert:
Peter Aiken said the setlists for his tour were all posted on Aiken Promotions website in advance. He pointed out the fourth song on the set, Walk Like a Giant from the new album Psychedelic Pill, which provoked criticisms because of its length, was the fourth song in every set he has done on the tour.
“Crazy Horse was billed as much as Neil Young. He’s done 38 albums. He’s not a greatest hits artist. Everybody wants to pigeon-hole everybody nowadays, but he’s done every kind of album,” he said.
“When we did three shows with Neil Young in Vicar Street, we had the same complaints. We were bombarded with people saying they didn’t like this or that, but it was flagged as a Greendale (album released in 2003) show, that’s what he was doing and he played the whole album.”
Sorry to be completely off topic but just thought i'd bring it to your attention. Can't really understand why anyone would pay €90 (yes that's what a standing ticket costs in rip-off ireland, a nation of greed) for a ticket and not know who they're going to see.
Hey Thrasher. Well, I am sad, but not surprised that there are those who choose to be negative.
I want to tell you something, and I hope it helps. When Tami and I came to Fairfax, you and I were talking. I told you I was a little concerned about the "sign" that we had been taking to shows with us. I was worried that some folks were getting sick of it, or that we were seeking "attention" in some way.
I don't even know if you will remember this, but I will never forget what you said, and I assure you I have thought of it many times. You put your hand on my shoulder and looked me right in the eye. You said "Sandy, don't ever let the negativity of others take this away from you."
It meant the world to me. So, let me maybe do the same for you, Thrasher. There are 2 kinds of people in this world. Those that build, and those that tear down what other's build. Thank you for being a builder.
Thank you for building this site. thank you for your friendship. Thank you for opening your home to 2 people you had never met and making us feel like we had been friends forever.
Thank you Thrashette. You are the coolest chick I know!!
Much peace and love, Sandy Horne
I couldn't have said it better, Sandy...Thank you, Thrasher - for everything...Arkansas Girls <3 Thrasher...and always will.
Thanks to all for your support. Your public and private thoughts are truly valued and will be remembered long after this passes.
As we are constantly reminded, Don't let it bring you down.
We try not to let it, but just wanted to try and set the record straight on our motivations.
And many thanks Sandy for the memories. Guess we should practice what we preach. And nothing can take away from Euro '13 memories & riding the rials with The Horse and rusties.

I've told my kids, and anyone else for that matter, that it doesn't matter what anyone says about you, unless they are right.
But we've been thru this a hundred times or more.
You continually bring the best of what is Neil Young: love, honesty, openness and community. A will to love. Never lose it, or lose sight of it.
So glad you got to hop the pond and tour de force with the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, Crazy Horse with Neil Young!
Walk on.......
Don't be concerned with the fuckin' doubters. There will always be people who bitch and love to stir shit up at your expense. Not me. I got faith in the hard workin' kind, the ordinary people.
Chris
Glad you didn't fall into the trap of captioning the lead photo 'Paris,France'!
Great job Thrashers.
Makes my day. Every day.
It's probably the same people who criticize Neil every time he charges money for anything, who criticize you for seeking to fund a cool venture such as this.
Any time there's money involved, some grouses get all bent out of shape and cry foul.
They're probably jealous because they aren't you. Which is sad, because being them could be such a wonderful thing too, if they'd just let go of their self-loathing.
Keep it up, Thrash and Thrashette! We love you!
Hey Thrasher,
Thank you so much for making this wonderful blog. It was awesome to meet you in real life!
I'll proudly wear my TW t-shirt and button to the next Crazy Horse concerts:)
Long may you run,
Erik D
Try a little love and affection, anon. you really are a angry boy.
I was thrilled you went to Europe and was able to bring all the reports, photos, reviews, and video, back for those of us who couldn't make it. I eagerly awaited your email every day in anticipation of what happened the evening before. You are an important link in our knowledge and access to all things Neil, and I would proudly donate more for you to continue on the trip. We love you Thrasher and Thrashette, and thank you for everything! Feck the doubters!!
Shame we couldn't meet up in the UK, love your blog and the work you do.
Great job, Thrasher, you made Tour 2013 super exciting from start to finish, including all the bitching and moaning, feeding back into the system... I myself was exhilirated, exasperated, blown away, bored and baffled by the latest outing of the Horse.. As it should be! Also, the concert comments, wildly divergent as they were, were always interesting.. Keep up the good work!
I was happy to provide a couple of tickets to the Berlin concert. I guess I could have sold them on ebay or something and had some hawker take them and turn a buck, but something sucks about the very idea of it.
From reading this blog for many years, I know where you're coming from. Was happy to connect with you.

Hey there Thrasher,
Had such a great time in Amsterdam and Paris with you and your team. Following Donna and I to Musee D'Orsay, the Louvre, Montmartre, and finally the Eiffel Tower for these shots, after staying up half the night, was it worth it?? Screw the doubters! Everyone knows what you are about and it's never been to enhance your personal life. Although I know just talking about NY does! I was happy to make you smile in Paris with the stick! Will see you soon I'm sure.
Peace & Love right back at you!
Terri

Thrasher, vielen Dank für alles. Ich hoffe, wir sehen uns wieder.

Thrasher,
There's probably some folks who are jealous because you've created this incredible site for NY fans (and a few trolls) to congregate. Even Neil himself called you and your site out! I think there are so many of us who are grateful for, as Tami said, your being such an amazing builder, for all the efforts behind the scenes, for years and years of keeping this site going and making it better ... I think the fact that there are haters is just more evidence of what an incredible site you've built ... if it weren't so good they would be focused elsewhere ... sad that some people need to criticize rather than do something creative or positive but hat's off to you Thrasher and Thrashette for constantly expanding and creating!!!
Love and only love
will endure
Once you qualify the source of the put down it is easier to understand why someone would take the time to do just that. jealousy, resentment, insecurity, flippancy and egoism.
you reap what you sow.
