Well, although it has certainly been a topic of discussion among fans, it takes on a bit of "realness" to hear it from one of the guys....
We all know they are getting older. We all know Neil goes in all different directions. We all know that one day it will come to an end..
dang...... peace, sandy (i am too depressed to capitalize)
I don't wanna talk about it...
I don't even wanna think about it
As a young fan whose only seen the Horse once, what can I say...I'm pretty upset.
I'm real glad I saw them in Toronto; the memories will last forever. As will the records, those powerful keystones that have held rock and roll together for decades.
Don't say it's over...
Neil just needs to keep this tour going, like with the Chrome Dreams & Electric Band tour... I'm turning 40 next year and my wife has told me she will let me take her to a Neil gig to celebrate so I'm ready to fly anywhere in 2014.
The interview linked a nice gem from the 2001 tour (first one I caught and which left a lasting impression. I was in tears by the time the show folded): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=WzJzDh9nOTg
Sad but not too surprising. The whole Oz tour had a feeling of going out with a bang.
How could anyone possibly be surprised? These guys are pushing 70 (just a matter of months for Ralph and Billy), it's impressive that they're able to put on such great shows night after night but it can't last forever. At least they're going out in style.
thats a good read but the tag line aint really news. lots of good videos but not a single recent Sedan to be found. Maybe the Ozzies are less obsessed with their smart phone video than the domestic fan. props for that.
Neil.
Please bring this tour back home in the fall. One more go for the true fans. It doesn't matter what you play or for how long. We don't need the giant Fender amps or anything. Just you and the boys standing in front of your magnificent gear. Think about it. It would mean the world to a lot of people. Fuck the doubters. Bring it on home.
Peace and out,
A life long fan
I believe Poncho's gut is bullshitting him.
Poncho, are you kidding man ? I don't believe you, I can't. We need the HORSE, motherfuckers.
Well from the looks of Poncho over the last several years he has certainly become very familiar with his gut...the US will get another leg this fall or next year...he basically admits that but then kind of walks it back since there's no confirmed dates yet...
Pearl Jam is set to announce a fall US tour...any chance the two bands could maybe....nah....
But there's hope...
This is the quote that struck us: "I'm 64 and I'm the baby of the band."
As Neil said at the tour onset: "Time has taken its toll, yet the spirit seems unstoppable."
Old Man take a look at my life...
to proud doubter: yeah, no sedan, welfare, or barstool vids from the oz tour have appeared. I've been recreating the tour on dvd for my own amusement, coz I'm pretty damn sure we wont see Crazy Horse down here again. Might have to sell the house and go to Europe mid year!
It was to be expected.Nothing lasts forever. The memory does. All good things come to an end.A little sad.Cees Mostert.
it aint over till Neil says its over and history tells me he'll neither burn out nor fade away ...
