Nice. There's also Gillian Welch & David Rawlings' version. And, slightly, off topic, the Red House Painters do "Silly Love Songs" with the music essentially "inspired by" Cortez the Killer. Brilliant.
Here's Tomas Ulrich's Cargo Cult cover of Cortez:

Jawdropping!
This is the best Cortez cover:

Hey, S-A, that one's pretty damn good.
As simple a song as is Cortez (three repeated chords for 7+ minutes) it is incredibly difficult to play. I've heard many covers that end up overwrought and completely lose the "feeling" of the song. That said, here's Michael Hedges' (RIP) lovely cover.

Wouldn't Cortez be in the next Archives? What the shit happened to that, it's been 4 years.

Built to Spill's cover of Cortez is amazing.
Skillit-Art: Wow, that Scott Kelly version is great. I've never seen him solo, just with the mighty Neurosis, but this was brilliant. Bruce Lamont's saxophone sounds incredible here!
Another version I really like is the one by Marissa Nadler. Absolutely haunting:

The best version of Cortez I've ever heard is by Noah Hunt and the All Stars, featuring Scotty Bratcher on guitar. There are several videos of this on Youtube, although the best one seems to have disappeared.
This is my cover...
