Bob Young: A Brother Behind The Scenes
A nice tribute to Neil Young's brother "Bob Young – A Brother Behind The Scenes" on Youngtown by Trevor Hosier:
They say that behind every successful person there is someone. In the case of Neil Young, there may well be many but perhaps few as dedicated as his older brother Robert.
Check out the full tribute on Youngtown, home of a rock & roll museum in a town in north Ontario.

Interesting, but a little vague. How has he been such a strong supporter? I did a brief internet search, and didn't find much. It'd be interesting to know more details.
A Friend Of Yours
I just remember reading about the drug charges Bob faced in the 80s and Neil helped him out as much as he could....wrote the song, "Time Off For Good Behavior." So guess Bob is paying back the favor but then how could you not help support one of the greatest artists of rock and roll!
i met and partied with Bob in New Syrmna Beach in the early '80s in florida, and at on point in time i was luck enough to get invited to a picking party the Neil was at. those were the days we were all young and happy!!!!
Bob is truly one of Neil's best supporters as well, Bob is a very loyaL friend which brings me to my next point...............where the hell are you, Bob? It is Marian, same phone number, still living in Toronto. Please contact me, we all miss you, ie Megan, Charlie, Annie and me! Many Christmas,Thanksgiving, Easter and lots of other dinners spent together at our home. Call us or better still email us at: mariansmith18@gmail.com> Love you, m.

I know Bob....He is close to my brother in law.Robert"Rosie" Rowbotham who did 20 years in Kingston Ontario on the drug charges. I'll always be grateful to Bob... our romance was sweet. He is a caring kind. man and has been a big influence on Neil's music. He was very kind to me despite a difficult time.
Did anyone know Bob's middle name?
I was serving a 3-year sentence for fraud at a minimum-security prison near Kingston. It was called Bath Institution. Bob Young was there serving his drug sentence. You couldn't ask to meet a nicer guy. Never asked for any special treatment ... always gave and received respect. He only mentioned his Brother to those he got to know. I remember him saying that Neil wanted to visit but Bob didn't want the publicity.
We both got permission to have a couple of Golf Clubs sent in and we used to hit drives in a big open field. (It was a minimum-security facility so there was no fence.)
Bob was quiet and a total gentleman. Wherever he is, I wish him the best.

Every person needs a second chance, Bob is not Neil and vice versa, you can tell they come from good stock and Bob just fat caught up in the age of drugs no more than some big names who never got found out, long may you run
