They Said Crazy Horse... I Said Solo

The official concert t-shirt for Neil Young's 2010 concert tour said: "I said solo...they said acoustic".
In terms of shattering audience expectations right up front, Neil's Twisted Road Tour with both soft folky acoustic classic tunes and howling Ol' Black electric feedback caught many fans off guard.

After the triumphant reunion of The Buffalo Springfield at the 2010 Bridge School Benefit Concerts, rumors swirled about a possible Buffalo Springfield Reunion Tour.

In January, we conducted a poll on 2011 Tour with either Buffalo Springfield or Crazy Horse?

The poll results were overwhelming in favor of a Crazy Horse tour -- 69% to 31%.

Now, what this meant -- in the perverse Neil universe -- is that we would get a Buffalo Springfield tour because -- as we all know -- Neil Young never, ever listens to his fan base.
Except that Neil went and announced a Spring solo tour first.
To be followed by Buffalo Springfield Tour dates in the late Spring.

Crazy Horse?
Well, I am a hugh Le Noise fan and at the moment I prefer Neil with the Le Noise Band!!! And personally I have to say his last album with the Horse didn't touch me as much as the others.
Le Noise did give me the feeling the Horse was over....
.... ooops, did I say that....
Right now I am listening to Mirror Ball (side 2) "I am The Ocean".
Crazy Horse?
Has Neil even recorded with them since Greendale? (Toast was before that). I wouldn't expect to see the Horse out of the barn until such time Neil does some recording with them so they can tour the songs. A 'hits' tour just does not fit the pattern.
Buffalo Springfield?
That/this tour is of a special nature predicated on the Bridge School concert. I would still expect some new material between them to come out as a result of their upcoming tour.
The man is gonna do whaddhe wants to do when he wants to do it.
