Neil Young Map of Tour Cities - Canada 2009
As we reported last week, the never ending tour appears to continue.
From today's London Free Press by JAMES REANEY, SUN MEDIA:
The buzz was right — Canadian rock icon Neil Young will play the John Labatt Centre.
An announcement this morning says Young has a date at the downtown London arena on April 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The announcement follows a report in Saturday's Free Press that industry buzz had Young on the radar here. The date was expected to be close to an early May concert at a New Orleans festival where Young was already scheduled.
The Young tour starts April 6 in St John’s N.L.and will travel across Canada, making stops in 10 markets.
The 2009 tour is a continuation of his successful 2008 tour.
Thanks Luc!

Dave
hey dave
where do those tour dates come from??
are they confirmed??
-Marc C
They come from Live Nation.
Confirmed
Dave
all big arenas.same tour, big $,hocket arenas= boring already.
Play some small venues again and I'll cough up the bucks...... but for another hockey arena show, forget it Neil. Not for the kinda $ you're asking these days.
Reserved seating starts at 75$ to 125$.....75$ general admission (iclude GST).
Dave
i can't seem to find where live nation posts those confirmed dates...
could you post a link?
any word on presales?
-Marc C
most of the arena sites are posting date/time/tickets
i heard it on multiple radio stations today that Neil is confirmed for Edmonton.
seems kind of fishy to me...
Dave stated the Halifax show would be April 10th, but my local rock radio station states the concert in Halifax would be april 11th...
no word on either ticketatlantic about the concert....nor on neil's website...
-Marc C
actually, nevermind my post above...the radio station was talking about the Harbour station concert in St John,New-Brunswick haha...which is listed as being held on april 11th
sorry
-Marc C
Sorry to be off topic, but we will be broadcasting live from the Lincvolt Garage today, Monday, as Neil and the Shakey Pictures crew prepare for their departure from Wichita.

i'm really surprised he's not doing a run down south before and after new orleans :(
would really love to see him in atlanta!
"all big arenas.same tour, big $,hocket arenas= boring already.

The Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie holds at most 4,000 for a concert. It is in no way a "big arena". Saw Bob Dylan there in November, very intimate.
any word on the omaha concert that was postponed last november?
How does anyone know it's the same tour???
Did you see the setlist?
Go for the general admission tickets if they are selling them. My bride and I are in our late fifties and managed to score general admission tickets for the last St. Paul show. We ended up 15 feet from Neil's main mic for the show. After seeing him that up close, we may not go back again as this was likely our Neil show of a lifetime (unless he keeps doing the ga format like Springsteen's been doing). After the "A Day in the Life" encore, the twenty-something young man next to me said, "I've never seen anything like that before". All of the whiners on this site are, I suspect, Bush lovers still stinging from LWW. Rust never sleeps in Bismarck.
The Mile One Centre VOCM is referring to is not in Denver, but in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada... where VOCM is based. A little research is sometimes good.
Thanks. Corrected.
Sorry, but in a bit of a hurry to get news out. We'll be sure to fact check better next time and not publish until we're perfect.
Nothing is perfect in God's perfect plan........
I see that neil has a few days off between the Sault and Saskatoon in April.
Has anyone heard anything about him possibly doing a show in Thunder Bay again, as it is geographically between these 2 cities?
Off topic question... Can anybody explaine why Ralphie was only on drums for the 2007 US Chrome Dreams tour? I like Chad, he got better as the tour went on (playing the Horse material, that is)but I will take Ralphie boy any day.
How does the ga work as far these shows.Who gets in first is there a line or a lottery or what?
I saw the Worcester Ma show in december... free for all all night long... I got pretty close to the stage when I wanted to
my tickets for the concert that was postponed in omaha say:
general admission-3
are the arena floors sectioned off?
so no denver date?
Any word on when Neil plans to come to Omaha? I'm getting tired of holding on to tickets I bought months ago and told that he will reschedule in Spring. So.....when is he planning to reschedule?
I was front row in Vancouver. It was GA and I waited outside the arena ll day to be front of the line. So If I were you I would put the day aside and you might just get yourself the show of a lifetime. The Floor is fenced off from the rest of the stands aswell.

Thinking of attending the Essar Centre concert. Question to ones who have been at his concerts - I hear he swears alot during the show. Wondering if this is true.
Appropriate for children or not?
rarely hear him swear..rarely hear him say much quite frankly live. so yeah it should be ok
Question for those of you that have seen Neil's show this round. I have a 11 year old that is a great guitar student. I was considering taking him to Neil's concert to see the rocker play that guitar - tickets are end of mid section. Did you see any kids of this age at your concerts and do you have any advice on his performance at the concert that might be ill advised to take him to this concert?
to above poster,
I was at the New York City show. I believe the only swear I heard all night from him was, "I'm auditioning for my record company tonight, so when you hear the new songs, make a ****load of noise whether you like them or not". That's the only thing I could see a parent really wanting to know. But even then, one not-so-bad word in a couple hours of music isn't a big deal, is it?
However, I did see two joints get lit. Personally, I don't mind that, but I guess that's something you might want to take into account, the audience.

To the poster with the 11 year old. I took my 16 year old daughter to see NY in Calgary in October. She loved it!!
probably driving through my state on the way to denver from lethbridge. another tour and another blow off of montana.
number of times neil has played montana--zero
Who is the opening act for the Denver / KC shows?
omaha show rescheduled for april 29, 7pm. tix on sale saturday for those that didn't keep theirs--the morons.
opening now is everest and the neville brothers.
wish it was still death cab for cutie
I'd say I'm a big fan of Neil Young, however, I must admit I prefer his older stuff to the stuff he's putting out these days.
I've never been to see him play live so I'm thinking about going to the show in Aberdeen (UK) in June. Any idea what sort of songs he'll likely be playing?
I don't fancy forking out £50+ for his newer stuff!!!
Graeme in Dundee, Scotland
Canada's Juno Awards showcase Canadian talent in music. Why does Neil opt out of this important event every year?
Vedder in T.O
Anyone know who is opening?
The show by Young and the band last night at Mile One Centre in St. John's NL was a special treat. I'd seen their show in Halifax in November 2008, which in itself was a fine performance, and was so pleased to see changes in the set list so as to experience more of Young's music live. Never expected to hear tunes from Tonight's the Night and Lost in Space from Hawks and Doves was also unexpected candy. Loved the encore. Young's guitar work was superb and the band was solid. Crowd was into the show and I'm sure that Neil and band felt the energy. Going to tonight's show too so am curious to see what minor changes are made to the set list. To the rest of Canada, hang on to your seats. Neil Young and the band are coming at ya'.
