Video: Prairie Town - Randy Bachman & Neil Young
Before there was Prairie Wind there was Prairie Town. Or vice versa. Or something like that.
Wonderful video of Randy Bachman & Neil Young on
YouTube from 1993.

Backup vocals by the Cowboy Junkies Margo Timmins. Video also includes documentary footage of Winnipeg winters and spring floods. A video treasure.

I couldn't get those to play, so I used the URL provided by Anonymous. I didn't see any Neil Young there, so I did a search... daaaaaang. I think I might be on the computer a while.

Hi Heath! Great stuff! I hope CSNY will come to Europe and Stockholm this summer; never seen them LIVE so keep fingers crossed! Cheers! Robert.
this is the anonymous guy.
i too looked for it again and couldnt find it or the slow version. maybe bachman didnt want it up there? i hear they take down stuff if artists say so. i swear it exists though, its got a grunge feel and not much backups by neil until the end. the drummer is a young guy and hits pretty hard. Niel mainly solos over it.
Randy was on a Canadian interview I saw last year talking about Prairie Town. He said he wrote the slow version first, but someone in his record company suggested to him that he rewrite it with an up tempo for a release. He called Neil Young, and within a few days, not really sure how many, had it written, and recorded. That's musical genius.
You can download both versions with Limewire, if still available.
I am the drummer in the videos of both versions of the song Prairie Town with Neil and Randy. I actually wasn't that young when we did that (Thanks anyway) but I was quite a heavy handed player. I also edited Neil's guitar parts and mixed that record - quite a blast and an honour. I found this posting while looking for a place online where I can download medium resolution versions of those videos. If anyone knows a place, feel free to drop me a line.
