I have received hundreds of comments on my blog from the Yahoo account: coldbowlofchili1@yahoo.com
These comments have reached spam levels over the past few days and I would like to request that a warning be issued for violation of Terms of Service.
As you can see below, most posts are incoherent & illogical. Furthermore, they are rife with grammatical errors, typos, poor grammar and lack of proper punctuation.
This user has been politely warned numerous times by other readers to stop, which this Yahoo subscriber has flagrantly ignored with apparent glee.

Well, the incoherence, illogic and grammatical errors give cboc's real id away.
You'd think George W would have something better to do with his time than posting hundreds of comments on the Internet!
Chili, you seem to be confused about state action. Thrasher is not a state nor is he performing a state function and therefore you have no free speech rights when you come to his blog. He can censor you at will. I hope you take this opportunityto examine your life and why you might feel compelled to seek scorn and disapproval from others. If that is the only form of recognition you feel you can get or feel comfortable getting from othe rhuman beings, I invite you to go have a conversation with a mental health professional. Life is short and sacred and you should realize that and try to seek hapiness and love. It is never too late.
Now that Chili knows Thrasher doesn't want him here, he could do the polite thing and leave. But he won't. Because he's a troll.
By the way, it's "hypocrites."
The longer this has gone on, the more I think he's a satirist. The only thing that explains his arguments, typos, and persistency is an elaborate kind of sarcasm. He's a very smart, liberal 16-year-old who's playing a conservative to mock them, and enjoys getting a rise out of the rest of us.

Respectfully, Thrasher, I think you're being too timid here. This guy is bent on disrupting this forum. He's had free rein for some time now. It's become an unpleasant place to visit and I now stop in only infrequently. I'd say the site has quit being Thrasher's Wheat and is now Chili's Bowl. I wouldn't doubt that this guy is on some conservative's payroll, busily manipulating public perceptions and working to destroy the opposition. You've been easy pickin's. I'm not sure that relying on Yahoo to issue a warning is going to have much effect. I think you're gonna have to take things into your own hands here. I think there is software for this sort of thing. Don't hand over your site to this moron.

It comes as no surprise to any g/L Neil fans (and yes, we exist and there are many), to see the level of uncorked hatred on this site and others. Unfortunately, I say 'welcome to the club'--where people hate you, simply because you exist.
Neil sings a rare truth, like it or not. Sometimes, I have had to step away, dismayed and saddened by something he says, but like an old friend, time forgives and time heals.
Like Neil, keep doing what you do, Thrasher--good luck.
I agree that he's probably someone's difficult child, probably has a parent who is a Neil fan and maybe frequents this forum. This is his way of getting back at the folks, without open rebellion. I'll guess he looks like a 15 year old Eminem, but with a mullet. Heads up, parents, to a disappointing SAT Verbal score in a year or two.

TO CBOC, Spam has not been considered free speech by the courts. This is a Neil Young music fan blog. Your opinions to do not reflect knowledge of Neil's music or even music. Period.
For others who indicate that I have been timid. I tread very delicately here precisely because of free speech. Everyday, people are dying for my right - CBOC's - to write & type in freedom.
My only other recourse is to move all comments to moderation. I am very reluctant to do just that because it really will all but shut down discussion.
Hence, my approach to the Yahoo Postmaster. Yahoo's terms of condition expressly forbaid hate speech.
Sorry CBOC, but hate speech is not protected as a freedom.

You've got to do what you've got to do, Thrasher. Chili (and Mr. Man, if they are not to same person) is turning this site into something it's not with his trolling. He is a nuisance who has shown he doesn't deserve the right to post on this site because all he will do is mock and attack other posters. On almost any other forum that I've been to, he would've been banned a long time ago. Because this is not about free speech. It's about making sure a forum remains a fun and informative place to discuss topics with others. When trolls are allowed to run free, they automatically make a nuisance of themselves and take the level of discussion down. Chili might claim he wants to "debate," but he obviously doesn't want to do so in a civil and appropriate manner. Instead he wants to attack and bait other posters with his abusive posts.
This site is your property. You pay for it and you maintain it. It's like your online home. Chili is an invader who thinks he can come in and tell you what to do in your own house. If you decide to force him to leave, you will be fully in your rights (both legally and morally).

First off I am sorry to have egged these idiots on by defending Neil.
Secondly I propose you simply delete their comments.
Mr.Man/Chili found his way over to my blog, and I simply trashed his comments as I read them (which I would not have done had they had any substantive content). It seems to work. You don't have to turn moderation on, you simply need to log in to blogger and then refresh/open your blog and as administrator there should be a little trash can next to each comment. just click on the trash can and the comment is deleted.
I highly recommend doing this for Chili / Mr. Man. Without a virtual voice he might actually have to work on talking to real life human beings, which is what the guy really needs.
Couldn't you just block his IP address. I'm not too familiar with blogger but I'm pretty sure this type of functionality has been built into some blogging programs. If not built right in, then it must be available as an addon. You might want to try contacting Blogger.
No one can post on my blog until I approve their first comment. Thank and a plugin called Spam Karma 2 keeps my blog comments relatively clean. I don't allow anonymous comments either.
I always like Slashdot's anonymous coward dig...
Their should be an easy technological solution to this. That is one of the reasons I run WordPress, but Blogger should have some tools available to help you without contacting Yahoo.

In fact, there's another Neil Young forum out there where, if you tried this shit, you'd be banned and have your posts deleted right away with no hesitation. I'd give you the link, but we don't want you, even for a second. Forums, when they are well-moderated, do not tolerate trolls. You've stumbled upon one where there isn't a lot the owner can do. But I guarantee you, this behavior wouldn't fly anywhere else. Why? Because most require you to behave in a mature manner. They don't allow namecalling and insults because they know that allowing such juvenile behavior would ruin all chances the forum has of good discussions and intelligent debate. Because they know that truly smart people let their ideas speak for themselves, and that insulting those that disagree with you is not something intelligent people do.

No-one should stop you from having your views ('I may not agree with your views but I will make sure that you can have them' (or somethin' like that)). What I don't get Mr Man and Chili, is that you apologise for getting too vitriolic (understatement of the century) on this page and offer to tone down your comments and engage in healthy discussion, but then you go onto the latest Thrasher page (in this case a letter he posted which he received from a supporter) and go back into your aggressive, violent rants against, well, anyone who doesn't agree with you on just about anything. Are you going to keep your word and actually discuss the issues here or not?
