This Notes for You had that Rust Bucket sound. Sounded great!
Had the same thought re: Rust Bucket. And you know what... It had the joy too. What a fun summer.
This Notes For You - great choice and quite a surprise (at least to me).
But then I remembered the venue in Toronto is called the Budweiser Stage, so perhaps not so surprising and actually very appropriate.
Watched a video of the performance of TNFY and thought it was great. They really seemed to enjoy playing it and I get the references to the Rust Bucket vibe in the comments above.
The video also included the RITFW performance which was great too and featured an epic ending including Neil creating feedback on Old Black by rubbing it on his belly. The performances of RITFW I have previously watched from the Europe leg were good, but this was another level. Take America Back!
I also very much enjoyed the Mr Soul on the Orange Gretch from Blossom - just sounded so alive.
Finally the performances of Like A Hurricane seem to be getting better and better too. Watched a few this week and very much enjoyed them. "Somewhere where the feeling stays..."
The acoustic guitar Ambulance Blues (thought there'd be a bigger cheer for "I'm up in TO") followed by electric Cowgirl with long intro jam, was a smile-inducing opening pair. Then Be the Rain! Oh, my ... getting goosebumps writing it. A jokey story about renaming the amphitheatre and playing songs we've never done (not really). Then requesting the ukelele from backstage for Tumbleweed and a feeling-it-out improv by the band. Live music IS better. The acoustic riff for New Mama (highlight; those young guys can sing). Forget which one but Spooner on piano when we got to hear him, was groovin'. Was a good mix from up on the lawn (the organ not always discernable) and mostly solid loud. I know it's better from closer but not bad up there. Micah was a treat: all his instruments and beautiful fills (the fiddle run in Ambulance, for example, on acoustic guitar). The energy of the band is terrific, and when the rhythm section is singing along off-mic you know we're having fun. And when on-mic they sound great. Good singing by the crowd (TO usually not so noticeably enthusiastic) on Ohio, Old Man, This Note's For You and a clap-along (and at least me singin' the hey-now) for Daddy Went Walkin'. I'd never heard Southern Man live before. Bonus. Some mistakes, yet that's part of why we go. It's a team workin' their asses off up there. Hurricane was emotional with "somewhere safer where the feelin' stays" over and again. Ending with a rest-on-the-Eagle-deserving (always fun to spot that thing) Rockin' to take America back. Every time I go I wonder whether I'll be disappointed and should have left it with the earlier show memories. Not yet! This was a favourite.
"Up in TO" got quite a sizable reaction on the floor- might have been mixed reactions around the venue. Neil seemed to be enjoying himself. Was very surprised to hear This Note's For You, but maybe the repeated references to renaming the venue "Fresh Water Amphitheatre" was a harbinger. Eager for tonight- hoping One Of These Days gets back into the setlist, and would love for Don't Cry No Tears or Love to Burn to return as well...
Ah, good to hear. Lawn has a lot (ie. too many, yakkers – why are they here?). We need this rain, yet hope you get such a beauty evening as the other day.

Up to 20 songs from the opening show of 15. I'm the Ocean debut last night.
Thrilled to hear I’m the Ocean. When it popped up early on, I started hoping it would mean quite a different setlist from the prior night. Ended up being very close, but great to hear One Of These Days. Great show, and a very fiery Hey Hey My My to close.
I’m The Ocean makes its appearance on the tour! Fantastic! Please play that again on the Left Coast! Either that or Dream Machine, or both!
Neil must re-enter the US one more time successfully to complete the tour.

Trump is a world class IDIOT & Racist Devil. To Hell with Donald Trump. In the long run, it is inevitable. But some of you voted for him, and he will be turning the USA into a Hell on Earth shortly. It’s getting very hot, we can all see that. To bury one’s head in the sand will not protect anyone from Global Warming. The US could have been leaders in Green Tech & Energy. Instead, Trump has remade our nation into losers. We are losing everything good as the Tariffs hit & the economy gets tanked.

Hit up both TO shows … Sunday was excellent … Neil in good spirits, band sounded great … good vibe on stage and a solid set list with some back and forth between hard rock and acoustic … Hurricane was sublime … Greendale tunes rocked … This Notes for You was epic … Neil seemed to be agitated about the “Budweiser Stage” and ripped into it and they sounded great … such a fun tune …
Tuesday was ok … I’m the Ocean seemed half a beat too slow but delighted he played it … overall these guys make Neil seem more vibrant and powered through long set lists seemingly without fatigue. Feel blessed he’s still around and on top of his game.
