Neil Young Film Coastal on April 17 + "Daryl Hannah shows husband Neil Young's softer side in new tour film" | BBC
Directed by Daryl Hannah
"He just has an absolute, uncanny commitment to his creative muse," she argues.
"He's not driven by financial interests, he's not driven by self-aggrandisement, he's not driven by anything other than that creative force, and it's pretty incredible to witness.
"Having spent so much time with him, my perception is that he's completely guileless. He has a lot of warmth and innocence, so I wanted to show that."
...
Hannah reveals her husband was harassed during the first Trump administration, as he went through the process of becoming a US citizen.
"They tried to every trick in the book to mess him up, and made him keep coming back to be re-interviewed and re-interviewed. It's ridiculous [because] he's been living in America and paying taxes here since he was in his 20s."
Despite that, she doesn't think Young will be prevented from entering the country.
"They've been detaining people who have green cards or visas – which is hideous and horrifying - but they have not, so far, been refusing to let American citizens back in the country, so I don't think that's going to happen."

The soundtrack released today on streaming platforms, sounds great!
If I was closer I'd definitely attend. But Flag is 90 miles. My dear friend, Mr D, used to get me any boot available ( ie Trunk Show ) has passed on. We met in a Stones chat board were friends 20 yrs.
The movie will be on NYA before too long. We have more screens for it here in Austin, so I’ll see Coastal on Sunday afternoon. Sorry to hear about your friend. It was always great to know the guy who had all the best tapes, old times were good times.
I will be seeing the film in Seattle, looking forward to it! Your Brother Alan in Seattle
They pulled the Coastal soundtrack this afternoon from Apple Music, sadly. Guess it’ll be back tomorrow.
What a Great movie. Kinda like the grown up “Harvest Time”. The bus driver was a trip. Neil is a trip. They are a buddies road trip movie, together!
The Music! OMG. When I hold you in my arms! Prime of Life! I’m The Ocean….hope to see this released & packaged w/ vinyl. Kinda a live” Before & After”.
Caught "Coastal" tonight in Chapel Hill and that it was superb. A couple of front row seats didn't get sold but it was a packed house. This is certainly well worth watching on the big screen and the sound was just right. Honestly, not sure it will have the same impact on the smaller screens, but it sure delivers. The feel of it is that you are maybe sitting at the table behind Neil on the tour bus and just shadow him. Good concept and worked well (imho). Got me thinking of the times I used to interview him in Michigan in those crazy backstage scenes after shows, often with his dad beside me. Just got Amazon and IngramSpark to accept my error free next book today at 4 just before heading to "Coastal." Great day to be alive, for sure!
P.S. Glad now that I got an image of the Silver Eagle bus at Farm Aid in Saratoga with the Farmaidians! I think Thrasher filed it with the last Farm Aid report.
A welcome hour & half, $20 diversion from these times. I believe we will all look back at our childhood as a make-believe, long ago dream. Love Earth!

The film has great performances. Highly recommended. More fun than Mountaintop. When I Hold You In MyArms is a standout. I love I’m The Ocean on 12 string. Me Soul pump organ. Lots of amusing stage fright insight after 4 years of no live shows. The big screen did this film justice. I am not a fan of hand held video but the live footage was mostly from stationary cameras. Many different vantage points & behind the scenes chat. I loved it.

There's hope coming by September, Alan. RFK Jr said so.
It's too bad that this album is not on the NYA site yet.
So now the Coastal soundtrack album has been taken down off of YouTube, which is a very counterintuitive thing to do on that platform.
