NEIL YOUNG ARCHIVES TIMELINE CONCERT OF THE MOMENT: 7/24/2001, Sportpaleis Ahoy', Rotterdam, The Netherlands
A new Neil Young with Crazy Horse concert from 7/24/2001, Sportpaleis Ahoy', Rotterdam, The Netherlands is now streaming on Neil Young Archives as the Timeline Concert of the Moment.
From a Neil Young Archives post by john o:
As some of you may have deduced, we’ve lately been spending a good amount of time behind-the-scenes thinking about Timeline Concerts and, to a similar degree, living in the spring and summer of 2001… which are, it turns out, two great tastes that taste great together.
NYCH — July 24, 2001 — Sportpalais Ahoy’, Rotterdam is newly available for all subscribers, so dig in — and check out the itinerary tab for a few nice memories like Patron David’s here:
I had gone to the first 6 European concerts and decided to go for the last one in the Ahoy, Rotterdam. Travelled over from Ireland and made the rail. 3 hours long with 2 renditions of Goin' Home! But my real memory of the night was Neil singing Tonight's the Night alternating between the piano and guitar. For me, it still remains my favourite live Neil song for the passion he put into it. It was sung in that shaky shaky voice!
If Rust & Patron subscribers want to keep hanging out in 2001 they can follow these three blistering hours with the Stockholm show we released back in the halcyon days of 2020 when we were still trying to figure out what this feature was, how it would work, how much work it’d be for us behind the scenes, whether y’all’d be as into it as we hoped. We’re still working on understanding all of those things almost three years later, but I think we’re pretty close to having it dialed in so you can look forward to that.
love,
john o
And here is a comment on the concert stream on a post on Comment of the Moment: "It's over." ... "CONCERT TOURS are no longer fun" Says Neil Young | NYA by Jeff:
Just noticed Rotterdam 7-24-2001 up on Archives and I heard "I've Been Waiting For You" like it was the first time ever just now and I have to say, hearing such a great recording of the Horse from 2001 is such a pleasure and miracle that it goes a long way towards soothing my soul regarding future touring.
Same with the upcoming bootleg releases, and Archives in general. The reality is Neil really didn't tour much in recent years, and flying to California for some mid week Crazy Horse shows or to Telluride for Promise of the Real was something I couldn't do.
I sure am hoping for Crazy Horse at Outlaw Field but am feeling a lot of gratitude for "Love and Only Love" July 24, 2001 at this current moment, thanks Neil!

Thrasher - you might want to change your header on this post.. It refers to another date at Ahoy, not the concert timeline date (7/24/2001)
NYCH played the Rotterdam Ahoy at the beginning and the end of the European leg of this tour, from there they went to Tokyo via London for the Fuji Rock Festival. The timeline concert is the second Rotterdam show.
Thanks guys. updated.
right, 2 concerts at same venue is unusual. some spots we got it right, some we mixed up.
why do we keep ....???
off topic
seems that the BBC dvd is on it's way
that's good news
Neil is the best
I was there on both evenings and the concerts were superb. Good to hear this, the versions of Standing in the Light and Gateway of Love are sublime.
Hi Thrasher,
I was surprised to see the whole concert had been uploaded, I only asked for one track. Fantastic to hear it again. Certainly was the last concert on the Euro tour of 2001 and remember the Dutch Masters getting me tickets. The midnight train back to Amsterdam from Rotterdam was packed with Neil fans. David
