For all the TW regulars out there in the rustie grains communities, you're really going to love these synchronicities.
John K went on to digress about this little synchronicity and thank Bruno for his research way back in the 1980's.
But wait. It gets even better.
Which brings us to the Comment of the Moment on Photo of the Moment: Neil Young Concert in Dijon, France - 1982 Europe TRANS Tour by Mr. Bruno Fisson:
Thanks John.
Thanks Thrasher!
I'm very moved... and I didn't know I had fans! You know, I’m only a collector who likes to share what he knows and has learned over the years...
It also allows me to remember Alan Jenkins, without whom all this would not have been possible.
If I asked "who took the picture?" It’s that I'm sure we were neighbors that night!
And here are some other pictures I took… which show that Neil's outfit was worn for at least 3 songs (On the Way Home, Don't Cry No Tears, Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, and I think, maybe Cortez The Killer…) 3 different guitars for those songs!
Sorry ViP, the Wyoming Native T Shirt is not blue but rather "old black" or "used black"!….
Sorry Dionys, but I don’t think the jacket is so "clownesque", especially since it reminds me of the outfit of surgeons who operate in French "operating theaters"! (I'm not sure that's the right term?!)
When I think back to this concert, what immediately comes to my mind is the extraordinary presence of Nils. Like a goblin spinning around Neil, a wisp dancing through the air…
For me, Nils has always been a huge guitarist that I love a lot and that I find far too underrated!
There is an anecdote of this concert that I would like to share with you:
In those 80's, very athletic Nils used to do flips on stage.
His brother Tom, who was his tech, had set up a small springboard which he watered before the concert began. When Nils started his flip, the landing did not go well and Nils slipped and found himself on the ground on his back, while continuing to play! Amazing ! And what a professional!!
For my "fans", I would like to tell you I’m still collecting Neil bootleg vinyl… And I’m actually working on an update for "A Complete Illustrated Bootleg Discography"… So I’m looking for any kind of help."
Photos are in chronological order!
Thanks so much Bruno for reaching out here. Quite a discovery and putting together pieces from this unique period in Neil Young's musical styles and fashions.

Sorry Thrasher, but legend of the 1st photo should be "1982-09-15, Parc des Expositions, Dijon, France"
It's the same for the following 3 photos!
Thanks for correction Bruno! Updated. That shouldn't have happened, but glad we got corrected quickly.
anyways. As John said, thanks for all the Neil research over the decades.
and so nice to see folks who've been thru thick and thin w/ neil are still with us and contributing.
so updated discog coming? cool. keep us posted.
Even if I remain silent, I am not deaf... And I appreciate all the work that fans like you do...
Long live TW!
thanks for support here Bruno.
there are so many similar unsung heroes out there in rustie grains communities.
so many gone but not forgotten.
we do try and honor their memories here.
such as the immortal and legendary Alan Jenkins & Scott Sandie from NYAS.
and -- in the immortal words of another rustie ...
"Ask not what has the Society done for you lately but what you can do for the Society."

My fashion tastes are very unrefined, tube jeans, t-shirts and flannel shirts, you get the idea, so my fashion statements are not to be taken seriously and certainly never will take me to, let's say, the ministery for education or an operating room. I am afraid that I am not very much of a help in updating a guide to inofficial recordings, but if there ever is a printed version, please put me on the subscriber list.

I certainly like the same type of clothes and I certainly do not seek any government positions…
I don't know how the "A Complete Illustrated Bootleg Discography" update will be today, but I'm working on it and I collect...
#Bruno,
Of course I do have an excel-list of the apocryphal items in my collection. I could send it to you via Thrasher and you could e-mail back if there's an item on the list that's of any interest. Since it is an illustrated discography I might have items with different cover art.
Sentence "Here are Bruno Fisson's Neil Young concert photos from 1982-09-30, Vorst Nationaal, Brussels, Belgium on 1982 Europe TRANS Tour." is still not corrected
@ GordonHobs - good catch. thought we corrected all links. thanks, updated
Great photos, and wonderful synchronicity. Thanks for sharing your experience Bruno, and I too would be glad to own a copy of your updated Bootleg Guide. Keep us updated on your progress. My first Neil Young concert was supposed to be the Solo Trans Tour, but Neil got sick and had to cancel. I still have the poster for that show, even though it never happened.
Peace 🙏
Was hoping for further word on the “High Flyin’” bootleg status. None here, it seems. How does one sort this upcoming live compilation into the Official Bootleg category? It seems so much like a Performance Series candidate at first glance. Perhaps the key can be found in the artwork, which gives the record a “lost album” feel. Placing it under the OBS banner suggests a “leaked” album that never saw release, which would slot nicely into the bootleg shelf. That’s the headcanon for now at least!
Obviously Jim Philipps' poster for The Ducks as of now is the only "promise of the real" that existed back in the day. Coincidently Philipps used a then futuristic or digitalistic font for the text that later on appeared on RNS and Live Rust for the same purpose.
For me the canonization system remains enigmatic. The archives says Live Rust is ORS #12 although it's a live compilation. Numbers add up to nothing?

Fair to say this was the planned album cover all along. Sure, it could have been an entry into the Performance Series or even the Special Release Series, and it ended up in the Official Bootleg Series, but NYA should really have created a new category for High Flyin’, the Hypothetically Original Official Performance Leaked Album… Series.
@ Tomatron - thanks, fyi, posted on your points here @

As nobody is asking the obvious so far, I will: Is Neil Young's latest lament on NYA indicating that there will be no concert tours anymore? Could it be be that after the pandemic and the need to adjust to eco-friendly tour standards a third obstacle, the absurd prices charged for show tickets in the US, will be clocking in the end of Neil Young concert tours? Neil Young writes that touring is no fun anymore if he personally has to justify outrageous ticket prices charged by the US ticket monopoly and scalpers. At the age of 77 with nothing left to prove and also little further gain to be desired loosing the fun in doing live concerts because of profiteering by third parties is no small loss. Time Fades Away, indeed.
@ Dionys - thanks for this comment about tours.
At 1st, we thought that was Neil's writing but it is actually from the band The Cure's website. So another band's take on touring conundrum.
However, neil did post it on his site so there must be some agreement with sentiment presumably.
Since the post was by teh Cure we skipped here on TW.
but your comment makes us reconsider subject.
The intro of this item on page 1 of the Times-Contrarian in bold letters definitely is Neil Young's voice, signed "ny" and referring to a LTTE published and answered by Neil Young before the covid interruption. The following news item then is related to The Cure and their ticketing problems.
ahh, got it. See
