Rustie Pro Tip: Did You Know This About Neil Young Archives??
File this is in the category of Rustie Pro Tips.
Ever wonder if there was any logic to the TAB layout in the NYA file cabinet? Why are some TABS hand written? Some TABS with typewriter font? Some TABS are blue? Some TABS are yellow?
Well, wonder no more. Per Subscriber News | Neil Young Archives:
Left-side tabs are songs that have been released on an Original Release Series Album (ORS).
Right-side tabs are songs that are part of the “Archives Volumes” series as those volumes are released. We are currently preparing the release of Volume 3. At that point many more Right-side tabs will be available.
Center tabs contain released albums and films. Each album is also assigned a color label. Songs on that album share that same label. When the same song (meaning the exact same recording) appears on more than one album, its color label will always match with the album it was originally released on.
Thanks for that Rustie Pro Tip Neil & NYA crew!
