NEW EP: "The Times" by Neil Young - "Coming Soon" | NYA
A new EP by Neil Young titled "The Times" is "coming soon", per a posting on Neil Young Archives: (Thanks RoadDog!)
I invite the president to play this song at his next rally. A song about the feelings many of us have about America today, it’s part of ‘The Times,’ an EP coming soon from reprise records - my home since 1968.

Might "The Times" title refer to Neil Young's recent cover of Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'"on PORCH EPISODE?

Earlier this month, Young criticized Trump‘s leadership of the U.S. in a lyrical rewrite of his 2006 track “Lookin’ for a Leader” during his Porch Session earlier this month.
In response to Neil's challenge, Donald Trump Used 3 Neil Young Songs At Mount Rushmore Event.

Well, we knew it was going to a long, hot summer. It usually always is, right? You know, there's a reason why Lookout Mama always says: "It's all illusion anyway."
So, just Keep Calm, No Fear, Shut It Down, and Keep on Rockin'! #BeTheRain
Labels: donald trump, neil young

I'll buy it, of course. Meanwhile, the fate of Archives Vol. 2 remains unknown.
yes, we hear you Wardo on this.
This has been the case for most of ny's career as you know.
the new overtakes the old. as we recollect, neil made a statement to that at some point although we can't locate ATM.
but while hunting around we stumbled upon our review of RNS from a very long time ago adapted from a 90's posting on rust:
"The album ["Rust Never Sleeps"]also represented a conscious recognition that Young's music had to evolve or he would become extinct.
The lyrics of songs like "Hey Hey, My My" with the chorus "Rock-n-Roll will Never Die" signify Young's desire to remain a vital part of the music scene. Even the album's title phrase "Rust Never Sleeps" embodies the spirit of punk music and the embrace of the new at the expense of the old. Much as The Who sang "Hope I die before I get old", Young is saying that he would rather "burn out than fade away"."

btw, any hunches on sings for new EP, besides The Times They Are A-Changin' & LFAL?
Presumably something from Firesides/Porch/Barn like
Ohio Pt2?
Alabama Pt2?
Southern Man Pt2?
Campaigner Pt2?
I can’t see campaigner because Donald Trump has no motherfucking soul
Looking forward... maybe it will be highlights of the "porch episode", but I'm also hoping for at least a bit of new material into the mix. I suppose the revamp of Looking for a Leader would count as "new"--on a technicality.
NY has consistently had his finger on the pulse of the moment. Peace Trail, for me, is a splendid recent example of this soulful connection to our zeitgeist. With this relentless energy and focus on the moment-- "faith in the future right out of the now", in the vision of John&Yoko--Neil shows that growing old doesn't have to mean dull complacency.
With age, some folks seem to go anodyne, others purely reactionary. NY (and DH Love) pivot from these extremes with grace and passion. "Yes" is, indeed, the answer. How's that for punk?

I know, I know. But we were SO close...
Turning 62 today. Just wanted to say I am grateful to have listened to Neil for the last 50 years. He helps with the rough spots. Long live the king
Happy birthday from a not so Unknown.
Peace & have a great Birthday.
@Unknown, Many happy returns!
Woodstock was a rehearsal...Looking for a Leader 2020
Hello, unknown. I got you beat by about a year-and-a-half. And I think I turned on to NY in about 1970. So that would make it 50 years for me. But who's counting? I just now bought for more of meals CDs today. Look forward to listening to them immensely!
When the muse takes him he doesn't fuck with it. Hence all the seemingly contrary career choices...
“my home since 1968.” trump ain’t the only one reritin history.
