Dang, the live stream says it has been going for six hours and twenty-three but it is only ten thirty-three CST. Must have just missed it. Had planned to watch this but didn't see the announcement for it which I guess was only here and at NYA.

Usually on a live stream like Farm Aid you can just go back to the start of it but not this one.

Kind a bummed...

@Dan1 Thanks for compiling the setlist complete with emojis. :) The second new song is Olden Days. Least that's what Sugar Mtn has been calling it and it looked like it was printed on the lyric sheet that he got handed.. And then there was the Cowgirl tease right before Hurricane.

Great show. He's sounding so, so strong. Doesn't seem like the same guy who did Omemee just 14 months earlier. Might have to plan on a road trip to Eugene when that gets announced. Seen lots of shows, but never solo.

I hope NYA posts this show again. for folks who missed it.

See the lonely boy, out on a week night! Man, that was sweet!
Quality whether you want it or not. The feed issues are likely
on the receiving end, but that was better than Memorex, man that
was LIVE. Broadcast 'em all!

No where during this whole process did it state you had to have a Paid Subscription to NYA. I did everything and tried to get in for 1.5 hours. Finally after contacting the organizers of this did I find out it was only for 'PAID' subscribers. In the whole process it was never stated it was only for 'Paid' Neil Young fans.

Please in the future state up front it's only for 'PAY'. If you think I'm going to pay just to see Neil Young stuff, your crazy! I'm a fan but after going thru this it might as well be the NYFU site.

Going to listen to some Charlie Daniels songs to decompress..............

@KnowledgeN: No Olden Days tonight, he did Green Is Blue and another new-ish one called Eternity that he previously played three times last year.

man.. Tulsa was great, the opening songs have been epic!! Neil flubbed the lyrics on Broken arrow, it reminded me of Detroit 18. Maybe he was a lil psyched out from the camera man, He aborted corwgirl for hurricane.. changed his mind a couple times on guitars etc.

That pump organ always sounds amazing. Glad he played it, Once thrasher started I was pretty much in a trance for the rest of the show.
As far as the crowd goes, decent. Not the best, but not bad. Neil was in a good mood.

A great set- but Milwaukee was still the killer for me. Let’s see what tomorrow holds.. hoping for AB and DBD!!

Great show and a perfect feed for me here in Fife, Scotland. It was pretty managed in the sense of changing his mind with songs/guitars but who cares!! My NYA subscription just paid for itself 10 fold!!! Last Trip to Tulsa, Thrasher...and so much more.... oh my, oh my:):) Happpy chappy!!

Unrelated to this post but worth hijacking the comments for:

DEAD MAN vinyl reissue 8th March 2019 on Vapor Records. US folk can pre-order from Stranded Records

But I'm going to have to wait for somewhere in Europe to pick it up. Shipping to Ireland from the US starts from nearly $40! It's listed on but no price for the vinyl yet, but same release date. I really can't wait for this.

I am not a NYA member but I was able to intuit fairly early that it was for members only. That seems fair. I am still saving my money for the Blu ray archives Vol. 2. My computer is not very hi fi. Living in the PNW, I am hoping to see him in person soon. Yes, it would be helpful to know it’s for paid members only. I do see your point. Have a good day.

dude. for a $1.99? That was the best value I can imagine. Jesus. I complain about the internet a lot. But to see those tunes played solo from my couch with my dogs and my whiskey for 2 DOLLARS. No complaints at all. Thanks to NYA for doing that. Friggin awesome.

Alan in Seattle, On NY Archives Neil said tour dates for Northwest coming soon, subscribers get first access to tickets so you'll probably want to subscribe at least for a month.

In the interview posted yesterday by rolling stone Neil says there will be NO blue ray release ONLY CD for volume 2. I'm bummed about that because volume 1 blue ray is great. Hopefully they rethink this idea because there should be a high demand for a blue ray release.

NYA is the 20 best dollars i spend all year. It's also how i scored great seats to Saturday and Monday's Minneapolis shows. THANK YOU, NEIL! Two completely different shows! Sat night was very intimate, reflective, melancholy. Last night (Monday at Orpheum) Neil was chatty, more upbeat - the singalong on the new song (Eternity) was a hoot. Both nights the stand out for me is "Broken Arrow" on the piano. Gut wrenching.

Question: Anyone know what's in his satchel?

You'd think those of us who paid for NYA would have received an 'advanced notice' email or something. We don't all have time to check the website every day. Maybe in the future NYA will extend to us this simple courtesy.

Too bad for me, I guess.

At 1/29/2019 11:06:00 AM, Blogger Dan Swan said...

Bob g, I agree with you. I had no clue about this until this morning. I’m a paid subscriber and I missed this opportunity. I have a life that doesn’t allow me to be on the computer all day, so I think a Email would have been appropriate.

As far as no Blu Ray for Volume 2 of the Archives, I’m very disappointed but I will buy the CD’s. Something is always better than nothing. Especially when it comes to Neil.

At 1/29/2019 11:56:00 AM, Blogger Knowledge Nomad said...

@Babbo B Thanks for the correction. I wasn't aware of the song Eternity, so I was just going by the recent sets and what I thought I saw on the lyric sheet. Time to get those eyes tested, I guess.

@ bob g and Dan Swan - wholeheartedly agree - I checked NYA twice yesterday and didn't see anything regarding the livestream. I had been looking forward to it. Geez NYA guys...a notification email for subscribers is the way to do this in the future. Hint! Hint!

Got your email this morning for live stream last night.
There's a lag between your posts and email?
Not your fault, of course, that many missed live stream.
Maybe someone at NYA deserves a thrashing?

We knew a live stream was coming. I got onto T Wheat 4pm PT its the first thing I saw. I went to NYA again very hard to miss. I went to Rusties FB page, 3 posts down. I understand others are busier than I and it cant be the #1 priority to look for it but dont blame NYA . I swear the last time they did one, also solo, I hadnt paid a dime to NYA and saw it fine on my laptop.

Got a second chance tonight! Do think there should be an email to alert folks and looks like I'm not the only one thinking that.

Would love to hear "Country Girl" tonight...was out for my country girl's birthday last night which was part of the reason I missed last night's show.

Tonight's show streamed on laptop only. It's a test run and nya say it might not be the entire show.

By all accounts last nights show was stand out good. I'll need it for my DVD collec tion. The Old Boy get er done! Yay Boy. Like Knowledge said what a difference from Dec 2017 Goin Home or whatever he called it. Hoping for Flying on the Ground is Wrong, Birds, or Now a Days Clancy Cant Even Sing, Country Girl. Go Man Go. I think hes got allot of confidence back again. I'll be watching remotely tonight.

The Orpheum show was lovely, and it was great to see Neil in good spirits. I thought the crowd was great, and I'm a little confused at the comments saying otherwise. I was in the balcony, and there were several moments during songs where you could hear a pin drop. No one talked, phones were away, and everyone around me seemed just as enamored as I was. Looking forward to tonight.

I know the feeling. I've worked through both amazing live streams this week. I know Neil doesnt owe us anything but I subscribed for the live streams and tickets. Caught the live streams last year but haven't been able to catch one yet. These are amazing shows. I really wanna see them. I agree having the video up for 24hrs would be the most logical way. Please Neil

I was able to watch the 1/29/19 live stream on my mobile phone last night.I was working overtime during a winter storm and watched it in between shifts.I sent a message to nya on Instagram and they said that's great news, enjoy the show.No buffering at all.Nya also told me earlier in the day that it was for laptops only so I don't know how it worked on my I have an Android phone,no apple garbage.Android isn't available for the nya as of yet.But I access it everyday by selecting desktop version under settings. My buddy was in the 3rd row last night his 2nd show,Milwaukee and Minneapolis,it's amazing Neil is changing the setlists night to night but I love it.Last night it was like he was getting ready for the horse with Whiteline,Southern Man,Stupid Girl,Cinnamon Girl,F#^kin' Up,Down By The River. This short run of dates in Wisconsin and Minnesota so far gave us 47 songs, with one show left. Would make for another acoustic/piano tour compilation. Thank You Neil, thank you NYA.

Well I missed another one last night. At least I'm not alone in thinking an email from NYA is the right thing to do.

@wsanjose01: NYA is the only one we can turn to in this case. As an company we pay money to there's no one else to hold accountable. It's a very small thing to ask for, really. Hopefully, they'll eventually work out all the kinks.
