Ask The Archivist: The Neil Young Archives (NYA)
For those of you who were around here at Thrasher's Wheat back in 2009, recall all of the excitement and fun we had with the daily Q&A sessions with "Archives Guy"?! You bet.
"Archives Guy" would patiently answer question after question regarding the BluRay technology, 24 bit/192 kHz digital audio, Easter Eggs, Hidden Tracks and all sorts of oddball questions involving Volume #1 contents. At various times, "Archives Guy" was responding to well over 100 comments per day, week after week here at Thrasher's Wheat. Those were some most awesome times here at TW for our humble little blog and represented "our finest hours".
Well, here we are in 2018 and "Archives Guy" has left the building. However, "Ask The Archivist" is ready to step in and fill those big shoes that AG left behind.
So recently, we wrote to The Archivist and said:
Hello Mr Archivist! And -- lo and behold -- several days letter, we received the following email back from The Archivist:
Very excited about the latest news via The Contrarian and Movie Nights.
Trunk Show would make an excellent Movie Night, we think.
Keep on rockin'!

Hi Thrasher! So Virginia, yes, there really is a "The Archivist"!
Thank you so much for your email!
That is a great suggestion! It's definitely on the list.
Keep coming back. The site is going to evolve and we have SO much to add. It’s emails like this that will be driving the future content of NYA, so thanks for reaching out.

Hello!
Thank you so much for your email! Sorry for the delayed reply. Sometimes it’s hard to find my computer in all of this unreleased content.
That is a great suggestion and I have made a note of it.

I'd love to see a section for each record about the guitar that was used to record. For example, the Bars side of American Stars n Bars, Neil used a solid body Gretsch guitar that is not used a lot. Things like that.
Thanks Acoustic FeedBack!
That's a great suggestion. Even better, The Archivist responded while in the vault?!
Anyone else hear from The Archivist lately???
I had quite a few notes, questions and suggestions for The Archivist as well. Here is his/her reply, I won't bore you with my questions:
Hello!
Thank you so much for your email! We’re over the moon to hear that you’re enjoying the Archives. Sorry for the delayed reply. Sometimes it’s hard to find my computer in all of this unreleased content.
There are so many good questions here I don't know where to start! I am going to make notes of all of these questions and requests and will be digging into it all.
There are a few ways I might get back to you:
I may follow up here with more details;
You may find the information you are looking for on the site in the near to distant future (most likely); or
You may find a note from Neil himself about this on the site someday.
Keep coming back. The site is going to evolve and we have SO much to add. It’s emails like this that will be driving the future content of NYA, so thanks for reaching out.

I have read a few of answers from the Archivist. They seem all the same and from a staff clerk. I don't bother to contact them anymore unless this practice changes.
So Tired.
