In 2010, after witnessing the The Triumphant Reunion of The Buffalo Springfield, Pearl Jam and Neil Young @ 2010 Bridge School Benefit Concerts we wrote that "the significance of The Buffalo Springfield reunion is hard to understate ... and not just for Neil Young fans."

Ah, that woulda been a nice to see. My partner and I, Misscrusher, had been talking about making the trip down there one of these years to experience the concerts. Alas, it was not to be...
If I could choose a Bridge School Benefit to have attended it would have to be 2013, the year Lou Reed passed away. I believe it happened on the Sunday and Neil joined Jim James and others in performing Oh Sweet Nuthin. Incredible moving performance. Lou and Neil are my top two favourite musical artists, and to see Neil send off Lou, channeling that energy from The netherworld via his harmonica brought me chills and tears every time I watched it. I won't go watch it now just in case Thrasher decides to post that one.
Also need to mention how much I LOVE acoustic Crazy Horse!! Not sure if Neil gives them enough credit for that? There's a good video of them in 1994 playing a bunch of Sleeps With Angels stuff which is amazing. But there's also 1990 where they play A few Ragged Glory songs as well as some older stuff, and 1995 which I've never heard anything g from, and 1996 where there is a YouTube video of an acoustic Crazy Horse version of Scattered. Big Time from the same year exists somewhere too. Human Highway and Mr. Soul off of the Year Of The Horse album are from this show too so I'm kinda hoping The Archives might include this show one day.
Lots of people were looking forward to more shows -- including, I think, Richie and Stephen. I wonder what happened.
I got to see them, both nights. Being there... It was transcendent. Stills seemed a little fragile, but they ALL seemed into it, they sounded remarkably good. And a lot of songs (and a sound) that hadn't been heard live in decades came to life. Loved watching Neil as a band member, singing his parts, playing with Stephen. I was worried it would be one of those things they shouldn't have done. And it was sort of a fuck the audience moment, in spite of the nostalgia trip. It was clear most of the crowd didn't know most of the songs, and was confused to see Richie as the lead vocalist (he sounded beautiful). So there wasn't that "oh, God, they are doing Clancy!" thing going on.. They had to win the crowd over. Loved every minute.
