NEW VIDEO: "My My, Hey Hey" - Neil Young @ Perth, AUS on YouTube
Lots of positive reviews coming in from last night's Neil Young & Crazy Horse's Australia Concert Tour Leg Kicks Off in Perth.
"And so ended one of the best rock n roll shows most of us have ever had the privilege of seeing."This is a great video of "My My, Hey Hey" on YouTube.
~~ Neil Young and Crazy Horse open Australian tour at Perth Arena | Perth Now by Jay Hanna
Check out the song ending. Very unique "Don't Say It's Over, Don't Say It's Over" refrain that goes over and over.
If anyone has doubts of the force of the Horse while on Alchemy, then see last two minutes above starting at 5:30.
Smell the Horse on this one.

Don't say it's over......hey, read the reviews under that Perth story. A LOT of them were glad it's over. Well done Neil!! I know a lot of people here in the States don't read up before going to shows either but I thought Australia had a good internet connection?! How does this continue to happen?! Especially where Neil is concerned? It's Neil Young people!!
Well, too bad for them. Have fun Crazy Horse, pissing off people across Australia and Europe! More people show up for your shows over there too so that should be swell!
Great video!! Awesome performance!! I sure hope whoever made it didn't stop there. Neil just keeps get stronger. Where's that new song?! Congrats to all the Aussies that actually enjoyed the show. Bring it back home Neil?! There's still plenty of people here that love to plead ignorance and bitch and moan too! Like this "stop with the self indulgence and play the hits". Ba ha ha ha ha!!!!!!
Did I mention what a GREAT video that is? Can't wait for the movie!!! I wonder what Neil's t shirt is going to look like come August?! Thanks Thrasher!! Hold on, here we go again!!! Don't say it's over.

Great performance. Neil always sings like its the first time.
Hoping to hear the new song Hole in the Sky soon. In the meantime here's a link to a rare unreleased song called Love Motel played just the once in Birmingham England back in 1982http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FxYJgdPC0Q82.

I like the new song's groove, but it's typical latter day Neil singing about contemporary political, environmental, social issues, etc. These type of Neil songs rarely resonate with many people -- with admittedly a few exceptions like RITFW. Neil is at his best when he's singing about the internal, rather than external, world -- feelings, relationships, life, death, hope, despair. Universal themes. Neil needs to go back to lyrics that are more abstract and less literal; lyrics that people can dig into and experience for themselves, rather than being "told" something. The reality is that nobody cares what Neil thinks about the environment. People care about the environment, but few people care about what Neil Young thinks about the environment.

i totally agree with big rig. i mean, look at living with war. "i'm living with war/i'm living with war everyday"...it's just lazy and terrible lyricism. neil is better than this, but he's just allowed himself to get too lazy when it comes to lyrics. oh well, he's probably not going to change at this point.
and by the way, it's "hey hey my my." you should know that. and he was doing the "don't say it's over" thing in vancouver last november.
quick comment/questions for last two anom posters:
- first: where did that audio feed come from - ie. was it from the perth set - if so, sounds almost like a FOH feed with crowd insert
- second, anom 3pm, I agree that most of Neil's latter day global warming commentary has not resonated, with the exception of peaceful valley boulevard, which I think is a great song and performance...
with that said, I like the new song. was that just CH doing the background vocals - sounds like a female in there - cause it is as much about harnassing the sun than creating a hole, and the former is such an obvious area for advancement
Don't forget it now.....
New song now seems simple, but that's a Neil trait, make it basic
and keep it rolling and next thing you know it gets in your head and expands your mind to what he's singing about, and maybe permeates your thinking to what can get done. I do like the lead back vocals of the Horse and the interplay of that.
kind of a gospel....great song!! which guitar is he using: white falcon? it sounds so soft that can be either acoustic.
Looks like the Goldtop from the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28721XnAQ2U
It seems Neil never rusts...Cees Mostert.
