POSTPONED: Buffalo Springfield Fall Tour
For those of you who may have missed the Buffalo Springfield reunion tour and were looking forward to the 30 Date Tour This Fall...
Put those travel plans on hold.
Per Richie Furay | Facebook:
For those of you getting excited about the Buffalo Springfield fall tour - word has just come to me that it has been moved to the first of next year. I'm not going to spend a lot time here with details as you speculate among yourselves - there's nothing to speculate about, the tour has simply been moved.
So let's not speculate here, OK?
No speculations of band going into studio...
No speculations of the North American tour being expanded to Europe...
No speculations about the band not getting along...
No speculations about Neil being Neil...
No speculations about Stephen...
No speculations of Farm Aid surprises...
No speculations of a mega, mega, mega lineup for 25th anniversary Bridge concert...
And absolutely no speculation about Crazy Horse reunions....
OK???
Stephen Stills and Richie Furay Backstage with Buffalo Springfield at Bonnaroo
From Buffalo Springfield: Stills and Furay on the band's future | Rolling Stone New and Hot Videos by Eric Helton, Matthew Murphy:
"Furay says that the band has '30-plus' dates for the fall - a number the freaks Stills out. 'They better have a break in there, he says. 'If we had this much trouble with six, I can't imagine 30.'

Neil heading for the ditch again. Should have seen that coming...
So now its going to be Neil Young %the Buffalo Horse?
False report. Facebook account was hacked! It's all explained on MySpace.
It is whatit is. I'm just glad they are still talking about expanding the tour.
Thrasher:
I must confess that I'm not too surprised. However, since I've been wanting (and waiting) to see them since 1966 (couldn't go then...I was only 11 years old), what's six (6) more months?
They're definitely worth waiting for!!!

Patiently awaiting next year . . .
Crap, Well I hope there is a decent DVD in the works, (can anyone confirm that?). Its over, walk on.
Time to ride that crazy horse!!
May 25, 2012 (Reuters) The Buffalo Springfield spring tour came to a merciful close last night with a show at the Fox Theater in Tucson, AZ. The much anticipated tour opened with a bang, with five sold out nights at the legendary Whiskey A-Go-Go. Those who saw the shows said that the influential 1960s bad put on some of the hottest shows seen in LA in recent memory, as Stephen Stills and Neil Young engaged in incendiary guitar duels.
This was followed by 15 strong shows in the Northeast, including an incredible two nights at Radio City Music Hall, before problems set in. Neil Young opted out of a scheduled appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, for undisclosed artistic reasons. He also missed an appearance at the Coachella Music festival later that week, with Stills' longtime bandmate David Crosby filling in for Young.
Neil returned for a series of dates in the Midwest two weeks later, but he and Stills were seen yelling at each other at the final show at the Chicago Auditorium. By the time they hit the Pacific Northwest Neil was nowhere to be seen and had replaced by Joe Walsh of the Eagles. Set list changes started to appear, with Joe Walsh singing Desperado being the lowlight.
Before the final dates, in the Southwest, Stills left to do a CSN tour and Walsh simply disappeared. Richie Furay soldiered on for the final dates, with Jim Messina and Rusty Young filling in for Stills and Young.
Rumors of a fall tour of Europe persist, featuring Rick Rosas and Joe Vitale with as yet unnamed guitarists.
Is it really a false report? I can't find anything on Richies site, Facebook, Twitter or Myspace.
Maybe RF or somebody else has a link?
Regarding the RF comment above...
at this point,we would just emphasize Richie's point that speculation is fruitless.
"I was always thinking of games that I was playing
Trying to make the best of my time
But only The Buff can break your heart"
Buffalo Springfield .... not again ...
My speculation:
Neil has written some new songs and wants to record (and release?) them while they are fresh, either on his own or with Buffalo Springfield.
One can only hope!

oops, sorry not MySpace. Check the posting on Google+.
@RF - this isn't helping anyone to post without a link.
State the facts and source.
this isn't exactly a laughing metter
I think that something's a little weird here. Richie usually signs his posts with 'Richie'. The forum on his site has been down for awhile. I can't find any other info on the Fall tour. I guess that we'll find out soon.
Maybe it's a good idea to contact David Crosby and find out what's going on with the Springfield?
got link?
neil just delivered the goods to YouTube!

Nice work there RF getting me pissed off with your infantile link. Go annoy some other website since you've got time to screw around...Toolbag.
I would have been very surprised if there had been any confirmed dates for a fall Tour. I suspect the Buffalo Springfield reunion has had a profound effect on Neil. I have no idea what might be next. What ever it is, the Spiritual part will be like the wet part of Lake Ontario. Doug S. Warsaw N.Y.
Raincheck--THAT was cool...but you left out the part about Rusty Young's idea to play BLUEBIRD with an extended pedal steel solo...
raincheck - well played. (golf clap)
Thrasher:
"Buffalo Springfield again...."
This has become like a prayer.
Marian M.
... oh well
I'd have hated to be the person responsible for finding 30 appropriate theatres with 4 months notice. . . all having open dates in some sort of reasonable pattern the crew and talent could survive.
Raincheck..I thought you were just
rambin' about an alternate universe but upon second glance
the references to the TONIGHT SHOW, Monterey Pop Festival,Poco AND the bass player & the drummer carrying on without the stars...I GOT IT!!! The more things change the more they stay the same.

Buffalo Springfield Tour Scheduled for 2012, says Spokesperson

Buffalo Springfield Tour Scheduled for 2012, Says Spokesperson
Last month, many drove hundreds of miles and waited hours just to see Buffalo Springfield, fresh off a 40-plus-year hiatus, play Bonnaroo. The wait was worth it as Buffalo Springfield — surviving founding members Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, Neil Young plus bassist Rick Rosas and drummer Joe Vitale — played classic tracks ‘For What It’s Worth’ and ‘Mr. Soul’ like they hadn’t skipped a band practice since 1968, the same year their last studio album, ‘Last Time Around,’ was released. But fans waiting to see Buffalo Springfield on the 30-date fall tour hinted by Furay and Stills earlier this year in a Rolling Stone interview, are going to have to wait a little longer.
On Thursday (June 30), Furay posted a message on his Facebook page informing the tour would not kick off until the beginning of next year. “I’m not going to spend a lot time here with details as you speculate among yourselves,” Furay wrote. “There’s nothing to speculate about, the tour has simply been moved.”
Today (July 1), a spokesperson for the band confirmed to Spinner that the tour was, in fact, still a go: “The Buffalo Springfield tour has been scheduled for 2012. Richie, Stephen and Neil remain incredibly excited about the tour. As soon as routing and dates are confirmed, Buffalo Springfield will announce all details to the public.”
The classic rockers reunited last October at Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit Concert. Since that evening, they have played only half a dozen shows together, including their epic Bonnaroo headlining spot that left thousands of people thirsty for more. Don’t believe us? Just check out footage of the band jamming out to ‘Mr. Soul’ from the fest below.
