The Warm & Loving Memories of Bridge 2010
We've spent a considerable amount of blogging on trying to convey what we experienced at the 2010 Bridge School Benefit Concerts.
Probably nothing really captures the spirit of the Bridge Concerts than this tribute video to the late Larry "L.A." Johnson (1947 - 2010), Neil Young's long time film maker and producer.

While the above YouTube version is silent, during the concerts the video was accompanied by "Dancing in the Streets" during which Neil & Pegi Young danced about the stage. It was the Young's tribute and celebration of L.A.'s impact on the Bridge School legacy.

And while there was a celebration of L.A. Johnson's passing, there was more of a somber tone of the late Ben Keith (1937 - 2010), Neil Young's long time band mate and dear friend. Ben is included in the tribute to the artists who have donated their time and talents to perform at the Bridge School Benefit Concerts for the past 24 years.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Thrasher and Thrashette. That video posted here of 'One of these Days' is perhaps THE most touching and fitting tribute to the greatness of Neil Young that I have ever seen. Wow. In around five minutes, it totally encapsulates the sheer diversity and scope of musicians who love and appreciate Neil but even more importantly...THE CAUSE OF THE BRIDGE SCHOOL!!! God smiles upon Neil Young I have no doubt.
As an aside, good grief - Sarah Mclachlan is stunningly beautiful and sexy - there simply are not enough words. And that's not mentioning her voice and songs...
@Jonathan - it's hard not to be moved by these videos. When they're played up on the screens @ Bridge , folks are pretty polite while they play and seem to be moved as well.
They are emotional stuff.
Well, I've got agree totally with your sentiments Jonathan...
This collage of short clips showing past and present musicians that support the bridge school is a direct reflection on their support and endorsement of this cause.
The humility of the man and his dedication to causes that he supports only enhances my admiration for him..he is and always will be a legend in my eyes!
Thanks Thrash for posting this beautiful collation of what the bridge school is all about.
doc
I only want to say that I totally agree with Doc and Jonathan. The video is very emotional and says a lof about The school, Neil and the other musicians.
Thank you, Thrasher.
The Loner
Well I'd just like to agree with Doc, Jonathan, The loner, Thrasher, The sham wow guy, and that kind feller at the san fran airport that informed me I am on a sinnful path.
I'm with ya on that Dug.
I find that the photos of Neil and Peggi embracing at these shows each year moves me as much as all the music and all the stories. Love and only love will endure.
It's funny....every time I look at that 2nd image on this thread of Neil and Pegi "dancing in the street," I always see it, first glance, as if Pegi is about to backhand Neil..and I know nothing could be further from the truth!!
could it Neil? lol
doc
Yes, I agree with everyone here - you`d have to have a heart of stone not to be moved by these stunningly emotional videos. When you see the smiles on those kids` faces and think about what goes into making their lives as good as they are, it really reminds you what The Bridge is all about and what the BSB is all about, and the work that so many dedicated people are prepared to put in. This year seems to have been especially moving, I guess partly because of the amazing BS reunion but also because of the memories of two dear old friends that Neil and his team have lost. I can only dream of what it must have like to have actually been in the audience……maybe one day I`ll be there too if I ever make that trip.
Haha doc! Yes, I hadn`t noticed that! I have no doubt there`ve been many times when Pegi`s been tempted! Watching that video is just so heartwarming - to watch Pegi and Neil dancing together and looking so happy, they look like a young couple in love. Which is of course what they are!
Thanks Thrasher and Thrashette for this.
