Congrats Calex guys, always great !
I was actually at the concert the first time Calexico ever covered Cortez. In their and my home Tucson, AZ in October. It was way better than this version because it was with their full band, in addition to the horn and string section of two other great local bands: Sergio Mendoza y la Orkesta and Mariachi Luv de Luna.
I was on the rail for the show and Cortez was one of the many highlights. The show was filmed for the concert film "Flor de Muertes" which should be coming out Fall 2010.
I second Josh's comment, I too was on the rail for this show in Tucson, AZ. It was an incredible concert and an unbelievable cover of Cortez that caught everyone by surprise.
