100 Greatest Madison Square Garden Shows of All Time - Neil Young, February 1991
For those that experienced Neil Young's 1991 Weld tour with Sonic Youth and Social Distortion, it was one of the loudest concerts of all time.
While this poll isn't for loudest concert, the folks at Madison Square Garden are running a poll for "100 Best: Vote Down to the Greatest Garden Show of All Time”.
And Neil Young and Crazy Horse's February 1991 show is in the running. So folks can play a role in deciding which musical acts put the greatest shows on at the World's Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden.
So far it looks like Phish and The Rolling Stones are taking the cake with REM, Neil Young, and The Spice Girls close behind. Each week, fans get the chance to place their vote and advance artist/musical groups from each decade to the next round.
Polls are open, so go out and vote and stand and be counted.
Thanks Sena.

Loud, yes! I saw the show in Atlanta, and I remember two things about it. First, Sonic Youth was loud and angry, then Neil comes out and cranks it way up. He raged for two hours. Second, a couple I went to the show with thought it was going to be Neil acoustic - they spent most of the show in the corridor to escape the onslaught. It was an outstanding show.

I did not SEE Social Distortion or Sonic Youth, but *I* wandered the corridor in Washington DC...I saved what hearing I had left for Neil...who played the riff from NORWEIGAN WOOD at the end of CINAMON GIRL...those are the things I remember from the show...

Luther Vandross is kicking Neil's *ss. Kinda sad.
dirty frank
I dunno folks, that second Pearl Jam show on Sept. 11, 1998, is widely considered to be among PJ's best concerts. I've never even heard of Neil's 1991 MSG show being considered among the best of his tour that year.
Poor Neil is getting annihilated on that poll. The nerve of people! lol
Hey Matt,....and do ya think Neil really gives a shit? lol
Neil is currently finishing last in what appears to be a very rigged poll based on the ridiculous totals by other acts.
