Fresh NYA BD Live Download Now Up - #3

Last week, we jumped into the whole kerfuffle on where are all those NYA BD Live downloads folks have been anxiously awaiting.

And -- just as Archives Guy intimated -- another NYA BD Live download was launched today.

Now we must say that we've found these downloads to be a bit tricky. If you pop any disc in, it would seem that it'll kick off the download. But once it's complete, it will take you to the timeline of the disc that's inserted although the track is actually on another disc's timeline?

So it would seem that if you didn't know what you were looking for, you won't know where to find it.

It was our understanding that the The NYA Post Informer would help with the navigation. But the link no longer seems to work.

But the new download does include NYA Post Informer notes on the release. The latest is kinda a funny wink at us about getting everything in all it's ragged glory.

Glorious indeed.

I just got one question about those BD Live Downloads:

Will these be avaiable infinitly or will those early downloads only be avaiable for those who got their BDs soon enough?

What I´m saying is, I can´t afford all that stuff right now, but I´m planning to get it in the future and ask myself if by that time (whenever that is) those downloads will still be avaiable.

Afterall someone has to sacrifice his webspace for us, so we can download it, at least that´s how I understand it, please correct me if I´m wrong.

Sorry Trasher -

the User Interface leaves something to be desired, that's for sure.

hey Archives Guy

good to see new BluRay Live material....
Out of curiosity, any chance in future Archive editions you can offer a place where all the HIDDEN can be found?

I ask simply because given the massive amount of material, it's incredibly difficult to navigate through all this stuff, and difficult to remember where HIDDEN stuff is.

Lots of stuff doesnt get viewed or listened to because people can't find it or, more importantly, people just dont have the time to constantly poke around.

Sorry, but these are the times in which we live.

any thoughts AG?

Give us the option to PLAY ALL and this problem goes away.....and you get to listen to hours of music/video uninterrupted without having to continuously poke around and disrupt the flow.

as one of my friends said who purchased BluRay...."the sound is awesome, but there's too much "fiddle-faddle."

Neil = Fiddle-Faddle.

Gulp.

In reply to Thrasher-

So here's the deal. Each of the "file cabinet" discs are programmed so that the user goes to the disc's time period when the Timeline is selected. The magnifying glass zooms ya right in there.

With BD-Live, the download appears wherever it belongs on the Timeline. Depending on what disc you have inserted to get the download, you may not arrive on it's Timeline page.

What one needs to do is scroll thru the Timeline to find that new pin. It might take a few clicks, but isn't that hard and can't be programmed differently with the current technology.

The Post-Informer articles that Neil's typing up replace the online Post-Informer. I'm not saying that these articles may not show up on the Web at some point, but having the article with the download is more straight forward, one stop info shopping.

enjoy.

In reply to Anon about Hidden tracks:

I mean no offense, but the Hidden Tracks are pretty easy to find once you know how. We did that on purpose. It's kinda like once you have discovered several keys , one can open all the doors.

I suggest someone list these keys here.

In reply to Anon about PLAY ALL-

There IS a Play All function. It's the most fundamental and first thing that we program onto the discs...ever since we started producing NY DVDs.
Go to MAIN MENU
SELECT PLAY ALL

Archives Guy, you are correct, you do have the ability to click "Play All."

However, this is a misnomer; you DO NOT have the ability to Play Everything on the disc. You only can play the NON-HIDDEN tracks.

Don't you think it'd make sense if you could click PLAY ALL and play EVERYTHING?

I know i'd get a whole heckuva lot more enjoyment out of the Archives if i didn't have to continously "FIDDLE FADDLE." (ha ha).

it's about the music, remember.

i'm sorta stupid, but i have the blu-ray version...is this new track going to be available as a mp3 download online? how many new tracks have been released since the archives came out?

I ask because i've not actually gotten round to watching the blu-rays yet...i've been glued to my ipod and the mp3s...

Hey Fiddle Faddle,
I have an idea for you, since you don't like pushing buttons(sarcasm).... listen to the mp3's.

You can listen to the entire set straight thru.
You can even add in your own missing tracks like Ain't Got the Blues etc.

I haven't used my Download Card yet because I was holding out for lossless (not a fan of 320k mp3). Since the card says it can be only used once...should I keep waiting or is that not going to happen?

anon, not gonna happen. might as well give your card away to someone who has an ipod.

Hi there, I have the 2 previous BD live downloads. Any special instructions to get the new one? I turned on the Oppo last night, verified a link to the internet and played disc 6, no notification of BD live content.
Do I need to play a specific disc? Or is this a question of waiting for the content to propagate through the whole set of "TUBES" on the "interwebthingamajiggy" ?

I'll try again tonight. thanks!

So I guess I should cut up my card and download FLAC rips of the albums from somewhere.

Shame, you'd think if we were going to get MP3s it would be well encode LAME ones, not space hogging inefficient 320kbs. Bad move.

Please help me, I really want to hear the "#1 hit song rap" but the download link is no longer active.
Does anybody have a mp3 of it thay could post somewhere maybe, or is it likely to be made available as a DB-live download?
