Archives Guy & Fresh NYA BD Live Download
UPDATE:
- NYA BD Live - #3: Cinnamon Girl at Fillmore East, March 7, 1970
- NYA BD Live Download - #4: Mr Soul, Apr 1967
- NYA BD Live Download #5 - "Rent is Always Due"
- NYA BD Live #6 - Mynah Birds Tracks
Just a heads up that Archives Guy has some info in comments on yesterday's Fresh NYA BD Live Download which is Cinnamon Girl from Fillmore, March 7, 1970.
Also, (and hopefully we're not too off the ranch on this) there is a website devoted to unearthing the mysteries Easter Eggs, virtual bongs, and hidden tracks of the Neil Young Archives put together by long, long time rustie Lone Red Rider.
Thanks LRR!
And -- a reminder from Brett:
Hidden Track/Video/clip tips:
Keep clicking around with your remote folks... up, down, left, right...
- Open the MORE menu
- Take a day off work
- Check the TIMELINE
- Open each Song folder... look for roach clips/feathers/audio log info tabs
- Look in the folders with Album title names
- The Book: in the Archives Selected Tracks section... the hidden tracks are listed starting with.. ie... 1.XX, or 6.XX (they aren't highlighted in yellow)"
And some more stuff to look for from Lone Red Rider:
Someone mentioned that there is footage of Neil opening a letter containing some of his early songs? Has anyone found that?
Also there seems to be extra footage (primarily Archives footage of Neil & Joel in the Archives barn) in the MORE section of each of the Archives discs except discs 0 and 1. Has anyone found any extra footage in those 2 discs?
------------------------------------------
There are 2 clips of Neil opening letters. One for Aurora and the second for the Sultan. They are in the respective folders for those disks.
------------------------------------------
Disk1:
Bonus Tracks: 3 are on the timeline. 1 is in the filefolder of Flying On The Ground. Look for a clip with a feather attached.
Bonus Video: For the “hard to find” one, see the bonus track for “Flying On The Ground”.
There are no “Archives Barn” videos that I have been able to find on this disk.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Where are AG's comments?
In the comments section at the bottom of yesterday's post starting @ ~11:00AM, 9/16:
Neil Young News: Fresh NYA BD Live Download Now Up
AG - i'm resubmitting my post below, in the event that you can better see it and hopefully respond.

Archives Guy, you are correct, you do have the ability to click "Play All."
However, this is a misnomer; you DO NOT have the ability to Play Everything on the disc. You only can play the NON-HIDDEN tracks.
Don't you think it'd make sense if you could click PLAY ALL and play EVERYTHING?
I know i'd get a whole heckuva lot more enjoyment out of the Archives if i didn't have to continously "FIDDLE FADDLE." (ha ha).
it's about the music, remember.
Anonymous,
give it up, he already responded to you yesterday. There are only like 10 hidden tracks, some of them are duplicates with slightly different mixes then the versions that aren't hidden. Basically what I'm trying to say is: Who gives a fuck? Get over it. They designed it like that on purpose, that's the way it is. I'm sorry you can't simply press play and get "Emperor of Wyoming", but instead you can spend 30 seconds navigating to it. It's really not hard.

Jeez, AG! Are you trying to make my little "Holes In The Archives" set obsolete before I even finish it?
Cinnamon Girl at the Fillmore 3-7-70.
Another one bites the dust!
Seriously though, awesome. Keep up the good work. I hope my entire set is eventually obsolete.

Hey everyone, I know this isn't the right post but I'm looking everyday for more and more info on the Neil Young Trunk Show! I cannot wait for this movie and to see another version of Like A Hurricane on film is just amazing! I found this interview with Demme online, and I thought maybe anyone interested would love to read it.

PunkD-
Why don't you just send your project's whole tracklist to AG and start getting some sleep at night??? :-)
Thrasher- Thanks for the shout out. Keep watching that site. It's being updated all the time. Sorry it doesn't have a nice URL.
LRR
Hi Archives Guy, I posted this on another thread however not sure if you saw it?
Do you have any updates on the release of the First 4 on Blu Ray? Also what about Fork on Blu Ray? I have been hanging out on picking these up until the Blu Ray versions are released.
Cheers.
Cinnamon Girl should have been on the Fillmore cd in the first place.
I like the idea of navigating to find the hidden tracks/videos. etc etc.
However, I feel there is a solution to let Neil have it work in the way he likes , but also allow a better experience for the user in the long run. Basically, set it up so you have to find the hidden stuff yourself initially , it isnt that hard as someone will post details on the web for all these anyway. Once you've found and played this content, it is than added to another folder/menu maybe the menu where the timeline is as an example. You get the thrill of finding it initially and the easy way of playing it again later. Remember guys , they are stretching the limits of this new technology, something may sound easy , but that may not be the case!!
I have the bluray , but not connected to the net with it yet, am ok to wait as there looks like there will be some great stuff by the time I get around to it
Mick
Hey Guys,
Can anyone who has downloaded Cinnamon Girl at Fillmore on BD live confirm how many Mb the download was?
Cheers,
Mick
I have not heard this anywhere else. But it is fact, on my Blue Ray copy of the archives.
I was flipping thru the book the other day and a small 5-point weed leaf(marijuana that is) fell out of the book and onto my lap.
It's hard to believe that the leaf did not fall out earlier, but I definitely did not put it in there and then forget about it, despite having lots of weed close by.
Has anyone else seen this? Confirm? Archives Guy?
I have another sealed book, but not ready to open it yet.

Now all I need is a virtual bong.

On the timeline, press the "down" button to light up the "Back" button. Then press either the "Left" or "right" button, then "enter" to access ANYWHERE in the full timeline.
Surely todays new download must be a jokr, right??
I won't spoil the "surprise" for everyone, but it's not a big download.
NICK
oops...joke
Will there be any upcoming BD Live stuff in the near future? It's been a while.
good point we were promised something no one would have by AG before Xmas - anyone know what or where it is? And hows progress on Archives 2 - this xmas (I hope!!)
@ UKStevo1971
It was there - a downloadlink to a ringtone to the "Shakey Fanfare".
Does anybody have a copy of "#1 hit song rap" the link is not active anymore, I would greatly appreciate it.
or would it be possible to add it to DB-live, please help!!!
When will we get another BD Live Download? It's been awhile. Thoughts?
Jim--
I would just focus on enjoying Le Noise, which was released the day after your last comment, for now.
When we're getting a new album, I don't think it's the time to start harping on the BD downloads again.

No more BD live downloads...is that it?
no downloads in 2011?Thats lazy!!
Would anyone know if there's any hidden material in the top menu for the "North Country" disc? If I hit the "Select" button on my PS3 controller (ie. to see current bitrate, kHz sampling rate, time remaining), I see the Top Menu for the "North Country" disc (the one with Neil in the car and the clouds flying by in the sky) is listed as being 30 minutes long, and starts at 1:06 (presumably the startup video of Neil drinking a cola and driving around on the ranch covers the first minute and six seconds). However, the analytic eye and ear will note that the menu itself seems to loop about every minute or so... yet the onscreen display still ticks up without returning to 00:01:06. Oddly enough, while the visual remains the same, it seems like the birds in the background gradually lower in volume as one progresses through the 30-minute menu. I kept it running to see if anything would show up, but around the 00:28:30 mark, the timer then looped right back to 00:01:06. Does anyone know if there's an Easter Egg somewhere in this Top Menu that would allow access to the final minute and a half of that loop? Seems strange that someone would encode the same loop about 15 times into a Blu-Ray disc, and then just loop back.
Also, has anyone figured out a way to activate (ie. click on) the bird-feather roachclip which appears at the very end of the timeline? I'm unaware of any ability to access the timeline from the "Journey Through the Past" Blu-Ray, yet you can't get that far with Disc 8 (again,"North Country"). Is this roachclip simply symbolic of the next installment to come (Volume 2), or is it actually a link to an Easter Egg, much like all the other roachclips which appear in the timeline, folders, and so on?
I know this thread is old, but I figure if anyone knew, it would be the Thrasher's Wheat board.
Thanks,
Glen (aka Barney Rubble)
In 2009 I bought the Bluray version so I could obtain BD-live downloads. I finally had 10 of them, but my HD crashed and they were gone. Any chance they will come available again in the new version of NYArchives
