18. Cowgirl In The Sand
19. Rockin' In The Free World
20. Encore: A Day In The Life
#17 seemed to me to be another new song.
Cowgirl was like a vulcano, a perfect acoustic part. In Rockin' in the free worls a driving bass, and after the encore nearly all strings of old black were broken.

Hi Rusties,
Neil's last concert in Germany in the nice city of Coburg, open air on the Schlossplatz (place before the castle), was a great and powerful event.
We were happy to experience the world premiere of a new song. Threasher put my youtube video, made from the first row, already on this site.

If I find some time I will post a personal concert review later.
Here are some links to the press. (Coburg, though just a small town, has two newspapers!)
An article from the "Neue Presse Coburg"

It is also here:

Here are 48 pictures taken by Henning Rosenbusch from the "Neue Presse Coburg", including a lot of pics from the fans (I am out there, too...)

Here are a lot of pictures from the "Coburger Tagblatt", the other newspaper:

Many good pictures from Neil!
Unfortunately the press report seems not to be online.
Here is an article from the "Nürnberger Nachrichten" (Nuremburg is a big city not too far away):

And finally, here is a picture from Nosie Katzmann's site, showing the crowd photographed from stage:

Nosie is a Neil Young fan, a successful songwriter and he and his band were the opener.
Thanks, Thrasher, for your energy. Good that your site is working again, it was really missed.
Keep on rockin'!

Just back in England after driving to Berlin and Coburg.
Berlin was awesome and Coburg even better.
Both quite small - much more intimate than The Hop Farm and Rock Werchter that I saw in July - and no film cameras or big screens at the side of the stage - if you wanted to see up close you had to be up close - I had about 3 rows of people in front of me.
I went in to the Zitadelle early, supposedly visiting the museum and watched the bands soundcheck which was actually a run through of Sea Change and then something I didn't recognise, they kept stopping and starting and I thought at the time 'This must be a new song' and then there it was performed for the first time at Coburg.
Hello Rusties,
here is another video from the Coburg concert on August 23rd 2008: the (still) rare new song "sea change".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAmVJ7IDFHM
I made it from the first row, so it is quite close-up. Neil used the title "sea change" (not "see change", at it was reasonably discussed) on the painting which is also shown in the video.
Enjoy it!
Keep on rockin'
Rudy
