great concert! neil and band were in a fantastic shape and mood. amazing sound and a great setlist. old black sounded gigantic! i liked it much more than neils last berlin show in february...
The Fall/Winter 2007/08 shows were roughly 2-3 hrs long.
How long have these summer shows been where the sets are mostly electric and in far larger facilities?
-Chicago
My 3rd NY gig (Prague95,Leipzig96).Travelled from Prague and back only to see 2h13min show. Spend great time. Crowd 35years+(Me 32 almost youngest...).Tomas Frydl
saw him in first berlin show and leipzig this year and enjoyed both pretty much.
but what he did yesterday with cowgirl in the sand and rockin´in the free world has been really something else. energetic, aggressive, perfectly followed by his great band.
hey hey, my my, spirit road, cortez, i´ve been waiting for you and the beatles encore was real plugged-in rock´n roll...
of corse missing the horse, but these guys do the same level.
i wonder when he shows up with some real facts about how the car is working. should be soon when he sings "you can drive my car"
thank ya for a great summer night in berlin and be the rain.....................
Three letters one, one word ........ WOW!!!!
What an unbelievable night, my girlfriend and I travelled from England and it was worth every penny.
The setlist was sublime and Neil was firing on all cylinders. Particular highlights were 'Cortez the killer', 'Helpless' and 'Cowgirl in the sand'.
Is was my 4th time this year, its just not enough. Bring on Bridge School.
What a concert! Great sound, great venue and of course the great Neil Young playing like a man possessed.
Please come back soon Neil.
Fantastic concert! Thank You for "Cortez The Killer" -my favourite.I travelled from Poland -it was an amazing, beautifull night with Great Neil!!!
See You in Poland
I`VE SEEN NY PLENTY - BUT IN BERLIN HE WAS SUPREME - STRAIGHT INTO OUT OF THE BLUE - NO MESSING -
A MODERN DAY TROUBADOR AT HIS BEST - WHAT A KILLER!
Just come back from Coburg and as I didn´t find another place I´ll post it here. The Setlist was:
1 Love And Only Love
2 Hey Hey My My
3 Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
4 Powderfinger (with extended second solo)
5 Spirit Road
6 Cortez The Killer
7 Cinnamon Girl
8 Helpless
9 Mother Earth (Neil on Pump Organ)
10 The Needle And The Damage Done
11 Unknown Legend
12 Heart Of Gold
13 Old Man
14 Get Back To The Country
15 Just Singing A Song
16 Sea Change (Definitly written that way as the painting said so)
17 A song that that he already rehearsed during the sound check and I had never heard before. Was some sort of heavy blues jam
18 Cowgirl In The Sand
19 Rocking In The Free World
20 A Day In The Life(with Neil breaking all of Old Black´s strings)
I was hoping he´d play Hurricane as the winged organ hung over the stage but unfortunatly never was taken down. Nevertheless it was an amazing evening, especially Cowgirl was most mindblowing.
