wow! almost every single song of my favorite neil record "everybody knows..." has been played! what a pity that i wasn't there...
The first 5 minutes of Cowgirl was absolute faboulous. Neil took away my breath in the way he hit those opening chords. And I think he was amazed himself. In a moment he looked insane, he leaned back his body and head and made a "drinking-the-whole-bottle-in-one"-movement.
A superb concert! Great songs, great sound (could have been a little louder though); but what impressed me most was his vitality and what an inventive and expressive guitarist he is.
Indeed this was a superb show from Neil and his fine band. The venue wasn’t full but 10000 people is not too bad for a show scheduled fairly recently in the middle of the summer.
He is really on fire and constantly moving around the stage like a wild panther roaming free. The sound was really good but maybe a little on the quiet side. There was no need for my earplugs!
A funny addition was the painter or road manager working away backstage. Most songs had their own painting positioned side stage.
Not all the songs were performed perfectly. Sometimes they get a little out there and Neil has to roam them in a little bit. But this is rock’n’roll and the rough edges provide us with all the charm we expect from Mr. Young.
No major surprises with the set list – the 3 new songs were good though not classic. But the really old 1969/70 material is performed with such energy and conviction that it doesn’t really matter.
The audience response was positive and thoughtful if not ecstatic. But you could really hear a pin drop on the acoustic section which was just beautiful and just long enough.
This year, we’ve had Kiss, Metallica, Foo Fighters and Eric Clapton all performing here. For my money, this was the best evening of music.

amenwhen you post a setlist, kindly let me know what is performed as electric, acoustic, piano, with band or solo. i would be most appreciative.
thanks!
ps - seeing him in winnipeg this october and figure it will be one of the greatest shows ever!
I was at the Bergen gig and NY was truly awesome. I also enjoyed the Norwegian support band. Does anyone know their name or where I can find details about them?
Great concert, the intesity was a real surprise to me when I saw him in Oslo, so I was prepared before the Bergen concert. The audience was a bit dull, but the people on stage worked magic!
The support band is named the Real Ones. Their two greatest hits "Lonesome Town" and "Ballad of an Old Man" can be found on their MySpace site:
