Comment of the Moment: The Archives - Live at the Fillmore East
Lots of discussion on the forthcoming Neil Young Archives: Live at the Fillmore East. Here is a recent comment on the contretemps:
"I don't know if I can tolerate all this disagreement on the streets of Miami...We've begged Neil to release some of the treasures from his vaults, and now that he's finally taking the plunge, everyone starts bitching about the missing acoustic part. And really now, how many off key versions of Cinnamon Girl do you want to hear? This stuff has been bootlegged adnauseum, and I for one am damn sick of 128 kbps mp3 downloads of unmixed hissy 3rd generation soundboard copies! This is for real! Neil has made it clear that he is releasing the acoustic concert from the Riverboat, I'm sure there are some better acoustic versions of his Buffalo Springfield and 1st album material on this(hope it's next in the releases). Remember now Rusties, you've been ripping this material off for years now. Give the man a break! I'll be the first to buy this! Certainly looking forward to Danny singing on key with Neil after the truly dissonant Cinncinati Music Hall vinyl I've owned since the mid 1970's. This morning, I noticed a prerelease copy of this on ebay from a UK seller, so this could just be the beginning of a steady steam of archival material. Come on Folks, Don't Spook the Horse!"

I couldn't agree more! I've already pre-ordered it and will have it mid November. I also hope that there will be a DVD from the Freedom of Speech Tour with CSN&Y! It would give all of us in Europe a chance to see them "LIVE"you know
Cheers to all the Rusties out there! Rob/Stockholm/Sweden
yeah all these so called "rusties" are ignorant. Did it not occur to any of you that the volume 1 release, which will include solo acoustic concerts from the riverboat and massey hall, might be made redundant with the acoustic portion of the fillmore show. the origianl crazy horse live must be included, but how much solo stuff can you have. Trust me there will be tonnes of solo shows, and they'll be the important ones.
"how many off key versions of Cinnamon Girl do you want to hear? "
how many you got? I have many, but still not enough,eh?
I have been a fan of Neil's ever since High School and EKTIN came out, Zuma sealed the deal for me for life, but I guess I must be ignorant and only a "so-called" rustie because I am a little skeptical about volume one. Even if the acoustic portion isn't included, I'd rather have the whole show instead of a piecemeal release........I hope this isn't going to be like the "Greatest Hits" package, which was crap, didn't buy it, ain't gonna.......... I still haven't made up my mind on this one. To be honest, price WILL be a consideration. Ain't payin' 20 bucks for 6 songs.
....Unless each of the 6 songs are 15 minutes long...........
