Video - Red State Update: WAR! On Neil Young
Well, we thought we had seen everything. But now there's a war on Neil Young brought to you by Jackie and Dunlap.
By we're not too afraid. Jest yet...
Over on YouTube, "Red State Update: WAR! On Neil Young":
"Neil Young's new CD, 'Living With War', features songs such as 'Impeach The President' and 'Bush Is Dumb' and 'I Love Osama Bin Laden'. First 'Southern Man', now this. Young's songs are against everything Jackie and Dunlap stand for, plus it sounds like a girl singing.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.
Laugh or cry, I'm not sure, in Devon, England, I can't believe these idiots are real at all, surely this is a pro album promo.
NY for Presidident / Prime minister / Pope / God (whatever hue it may be).

It comes off as a parody, but any humor that was there is lost as soon as they start making fun of his kids. Jesus.
People like this is why America will one day fail. They make fun of Neil being a pot user. Meanwhile it appears as if (now I could be wrong) but as if there are quite a few Budweiser cans sitting in front of their camera. Chubs to the left is hard to even understand.
It's listed under comedy, & yeah it's funny, until (as anonymous points out)they start making fun of his kids, then any laughter suddenly turns to a sick feeling.
If you visit their website and do a little digging around, you can find links to other comedy routines they've done. They have parodied lots of stuff, from Brokeback Mt. to Verner Herzog. Some of its hilarious, but usually they cross the line into tastelessness - it's their style - it's what you might call guerilla comedy. They leave you thinking "is this satire or real?" I'm still trying to decide if they are brilliant or despicable. I think a little of both.
I'm really laughing out loud behind these projects... Neil Young songs are living by themselves, they don't need no material... They fly in the prairie wind, they fly from Europe to America & Canada passing through Greendale... DON'T YOUR HEAR SUN GREEN CALLING YOU ?
So..... Farm Aid was just an excuse for Neil Young to smoke some of Willie Nelson's pot and John Cougar to get his name in thwe paper..... Glad they cleared that up.
Tasteless, crude and funny at times....Are these guys Bob and Doug Mackenzie's southern cousins, or what?
Take off, hosers........ ;)
I like how they specify that they'll even burn Arc . It kind of proves that they know more than they might appear. Not that many NY fans even know about Arc, and the idea that they think it might not even be worth burning is fuckin funny.
Eh, not that funny, parody of redneck dumbasses or not. It's waaay easier to do lazy comedy like that than do something intelligent. But really the more attention the album gets the better. People need to follow Neil's call to arms and start being loud.
I honestly think this is meant to be a satirical parody of Southern Hicks rather than a serious attack on Neil Young. The jokes on Neil's kids are gross, though, and it's hardly highbrow stuff. The video where they chat about Brokeback Mountain is funny, but I am worried there could actually BE people like that out there...
Duh, these peeps are obviously NY fans. Why the heck else would they say buy all his albums and send them in? I know these times are hard but don't read too much into it. These guys are pretty self explanatory - just out to poke fun at the same groups NY is speaking against..
