2005: Year of The Neil

And so here we are in the years.

After last year's round up for the 2004 Neil Year in Review, it seems hard to believe that 2005 can even top that one.

There were some definite highs and frightening lows. Most importantly, Neil is still here and making music. During 2005, Neil had quite a few miraculously magically memorable moments, not the least of which was suffering a brain aneurysm and undergoing successful surgery. And, sadly, Neil's father - Scott Young - passed away this year.

So what makes 2005 even more remarkable is how many of these highlights occurred after Neil's brain surgery. Add to all of this, Neil celebrated his 60th birthday.

So here's a look back at 2005 -- what we're calling here at Thrasher's Wheat: "The Year of The Neil".

I just want to thank you for this great site about Neil. I have only followed Neil Young's career since we saw him twice during his Greendale Tour. I am only sorry that I didn't discover Neil Young many years ago.

Oh Man.....cracking me up,eh? I feel your pain... By the time they finally get released, should be about 2 or 3 hundred discs, who is gonna be able to afford them then?

It was a delight to both read the highlights and look at the pictures for the 2005 Neil year in review, although time is precious.........bring on the Archives, I can't wait...2006 is destined to be special

Indecision is crowding me

2 or 3 hundred discs ? That may be because Neil is having trouble deciding what to include and what to leave out...Strip the cupboards bare!!Put it ALL out! We could hear how Sugar Mtn. has evolved over the years (not much).Though the harmonies by C&N(1974 tour) were nice...

Well, despite 2005 being "The Year Of The Neil", today's Washington Post list Neil "Out" and Young Jeezy "In" on it's annual in/out list for the New Year.
