Neil Young will be musical guest on NBC's Saturday Night Live this weekend on Dec 17th. Jack Black is the guest host. Jack, King Kong & Neil. This is must-see Neil-TV.

All this talk of archives lately, prompted a trip through the Thrasher's Wheat Archives. When Neil last performed on Saturday Night Live, it was May 6, 2000* and the album Silver & Gold had been released.

Neil played "Razor Love" and "Silver & Gold". Note the stage settings above of an Indian statue (upper left) a bag packed (lower right) in a close inspection of the video.

Back on December 5, 1992 the album Harvest Moon released, Neil performed on SNL.

Neil sang "Hank to Hendrix" and "Harvest Moon".

Tomorrow, we'll post on Neil's astonishingly incendiary 1989 performance of "Rockin' in the Free World" which has been called "one of the most intense live television studio performances ever".

At 12/14/2005 11:30:00 PM, Anonymous said...: Sorry bub, but you lie. The last time Neil preformed on SNL was May 6th, 2000. John Goodman was host, and Neil played Razor Love along with another song from Silver and Gold (I believe it was Daddy Went Walkin', but memory fails).
