One thing we can we agree on is that we all love the music of Neil Young. And this band is filling the sails, getting the old ship moving again.
Independents of left & right is music, “the math of the soul.”
Rather than focus on crops rotting in the fields, I am at this point all-in on seeing Neil 2 or 3 times on this tour.
TW meetup will not happen but I am holding out hope for Dan to join my friend & I in Bend.
I see Neil’s set list as a rejection of the sentiment of the new album. The hurtful stuff has ebbed, there is hope for human relations to thaw. The Dark Mirage has faded from the living tour.
“Ain’t no time to hate. Barely time to wait.”
There is a cost to turning one’s back on family. It keeps on costing too; you don’t just pay once.
Last night I got to see Lady Gaga with my wife & both daughters. I am not so obsessed with her music but I do like some of it. What a blast.
Gaga is out there telling everyone that it’s just right to be who you really are. There was a lot of Love in “Climate Pledge Arena” last night. I was glad to be a part of it.
Our country needs that kind of vibe. That and health care for all, a minimum living wage, and a return to “Civilization.” People being decent to each other. You know, the stuff Jesus said to do. Feed the hungry, shelter the homeless. Instead of a war on poverty, we have a war against the poor. And the numbers of poor are growing quickly.
AI and bad decisions will have “coders” sleeping on sidewalks too. Livelihoods are disappearing just as a full lack of compassion has grabbed the reins of our troubled land.
But Neil is still dreaming the dream we had. For him & us, it’s not over. Throw Your Hatred Down (but maybe not here). Love will trump Hate. Bring back the Hippie Dream!

(Corrected).
WA state locals, are you going to see the show at Château St Michelle 5/4? Got an extra ticket? I will be there with my TW tie dye on, with a little sign that says, “I Need A Miracle” just like back in the old days of the Grateful Dead.
