Neil and Chrome Hearts were fantastic, really on song with some blistering and crunching sounds. Poncho’s eagle keyboard descended then the band kicked into Hey Hey My My instead of Like a Hurricane! Whilst rockin to the end of 2nd encore, Neil and band were cut off literally less than a minute before end of rollickin version of RIFW, which really spoilt the end of a great night. Shame but we mustn’t let the corporate curfew prevail... Next time will think twice before booking tickets for BST at Hyde Park.
Very good tonight, agree re: BST Hyde Park, Finsbury Park is so much better and Jess corporate. Sound balance was very good and guitars very full. He still plays amazingly well, a little slower maybe and doesn’t quite lift off like he was doing in the 90’s . Always going to miss songs missed out but great to get Love To Burn and the starting 4 songs is a very good opener. Hate all that gold circle BS, fair enough if someone wants to sit in the posh seats drinking Pimms but let the standing be standing with a single ticket price rather than a less than full section stage front and a big gap to where the bulk of real fans will be. Noticed a few broadcast cameras and a drone there so maybe it’ll appear on Tv
A few seconds before the power was reduced..Neil..indecated to the band by lowering his hand that he wanted it volume lower/off. This is the same as cutting/breaking guitar strings when finishing or pinning his shirt and playing with one shoulder off as with CH in Nottingham many years ago. In short Hyde park..over priced, way to crowded...screens that have an oak tree smack bang in the middle of your viewing experiance(depending where you stand) and a real 'hail Mary' when leaving site with a pretty good chance of breaking your ancle on discarded beer cans...but as for being cut off..nope..all planned...as Neil said ..we are in control.
