Neil Young has endorsed Kamala Harris for President, per a statement on Neil Young Archives.
Young writes: "Cast your vote for a beautiful future for your family."
He goes on to say:
“Kamala Harris — She is an honest forthright truth teller who is experienced in the White House, free from ambiguity or evasiveness, who goes straight to the point.”
"Clear headed, young enough to hold the office for a couple of bright future terms, Kamala Harris is a good person who is unafraid to take on criminals and uphold the law of the USA. She's my candidate for the future of this country.
"Kamala Harris will take on the billionaire class and make them pay their fair share of taxes. She will not owe them favors. She is a kind, considerate American."
And recall, back in 2020: Neil Young: "I don't hate Trump. I do hate that he is President".

Vice President Harris is well-spoken, a strong communicator. And I sense she’s genuinely interested in connecting with people to make change for the better. These are the qualities that strike me as essential to (good) leadership. I hope there’s enough good leadership forthcoming from all our citizens to move us toward a brighter future.
The world is not what it once was. The past really is past. Neil Young is finally lost. It will be harder to carry on.

Lol, @Pete. Who is the lost one here? I encourage folks to watch the Univision Town Hall meetings with both VP Harris and Trump (who somehow evades the title of convicted felon when referred to in the press, though that is indeed what he is). Please watch how she answers the questions with empathy and understanding and a vision. And then note in his responses his consistent unsubstantiated claims, utter meandering incoherence (weave, my ass), and detachment from reality (J6 was a day of love). Also watch the Fox interview from yesterday with Harris in which she is subjected to unrelenting attacks. Note how she stands her ground and responds forcefully but respectfully, while being repeatedly interrupted. Imagine Trump in that same scenario. The little baby would have been whining about how unfair and mean the journalists are -- as he did when he received tough questions in front of the National Association of Black Journalists -- and trying to belittle them. The difference in character and what that means for this country is night and day.
I am not an American citizen, so I am not qualified to weigh on this, but the phrase "Kamala Harris will take on the billionaire class and make them pay their fair share of taxes. She will not owe them favors" strikes me as odd, since she has raised vastly more money than Trump and has 76 billionaire donors (Trump has 50 - Source : Forbes). What I see is a fight between a billionaire and a billionaires' puppet - a fight from which regular people have nothing good to expect...
Just Google PROJECT 2025, and read it thoroughly. Then decide what kind of country you’re willing to live in.

As a European citizen I do not have a vote in this election, but given the impact that the outcome of any presidential election has on my country (and other parts of the world) I do not see why the debate should be left to Jim and Jill in Pennsylvania, who on election day might decide to not cast their ballot because there are slim chances for rain on the way there.
Responsibility is not a mere question of what kind of passport is being held.
As a voting American (as it happens, I was born just outside Philadelphia...), I welcome all perspectives from anyone to make themselves reasonably educated. I could enumerate examples of how one country's elections affect other places (e.g. military funding, tariffs potentially causing trade wars, and once in a blue moon, actual humanitarian aid!).
What worries me most is voter apathy. I understand cynicism but even when you have imperfect options, the answer isn't to simply check out! And in my honest opinion, if you look at those two candidates and can't make any meaningful distinction, I think you're checking out.
Good luck to anyone trying to run for national office around here without mega-wealthy donors. In the US, there is essentially no upper limit on political donations, including from corporations. Because money=free speech, per our Supreme Court. See also: Citizens United. (Need I say more?)

This has little to do with billionaires. Yes, some rich folks back her. Some back Trump. I doubt either will be ruled by their doners.
Here is the heart of it: Trump was president for four years. He had a chance to make a positive difference. It did not go well. His character flaws and his lack of discipline sunk him and, during Covid, killed many of us. NOW, he has gone full fascist. He affirms this every day. More strongly every day. Knowledge Nomad is right. Just listen. Just read.

what worries me the most is fascism. I am battling with local elections, people trying to ban books, christian nationalism, anti-immigrant, police state, guns for everyone, and protections of all sorts for mass-production agriculture. Things are not going well and don't for a minute think that small farms are getting serious help- not true. We are verging on a complete collapse of every and all value central to democracy.
Agree with Snopes, absolutely.
Brainwashed people love politicians. About 99% of politicians are criminals. If you think they work for the people, you better have your head checked.
