SDSU Thursday, 2nd night of tour, here I come!
If anyone has 1 extra ticket for Thursday in San Diego, a friend of mine is hoping for a Miracle, wants to buy in. He has never gotten to see Neil Young live.
My seats are in back at the venue, stage left, but he would take any seat. If you got 1 extra, maybe you could meet up for a cash transaction on the way into the show? Thank you.

there still some on Ticketmaster for face value
@ TVHOA : Thank you. Somehow “face value” means $166 even in the back where my seats are, which I paid over $40 less for. Live Nation will tack on more charges too. My friend can’t afford expensive seats, etc. He might pay $166 once the desperation sets in!

There are a couple for $128 on there, you are in lower price seat than $161, the face value exchange does not tack on anymore fees, I thought last year also but it its exactly what it shows

@ GDTRFB71 : Thank you! My friend got his ticket.
Yes, my friend got his ticket so we are all in.

Set now up on Sugar Mags. 14 songs. 9 then 4 solo ? Ends in Hey Hey My My. I'm happy

No big surprise in the setlist, except the solo songs at the end before HHMM as encore (?). CTG included the lost verse.
Don't be Denied was with CH, 3 solo, Down By the River & Love & Only Love were each 15 minutes long
Two pianos on stage that, unless I missed something, went untouched - so it feels like there will be room in the setlist to mix it up - during, presumably, the acoustic portion at least. Absolutely ripping set. So joyous - Cortez opener with the newly discovered lyrics was a joy but Scattered was where everything came together emotionally for me. Made a personal recording of the show on my phone that came out good enough for me to be able to clearly listen hear everything (I was up front and the mix was great) so will try to transcribed the additional Cotrez verses by this weekend - though I imagine someone will, or already has beaten me to it.
Crowd was in great spirits, too.... might have to do with the amps and the plethora of hits because much less restless and rude than the dummies that seemed to turn out on the solo tour last year.
Looking forward to tomorrow night.
Was there an opening band and can you tell me approximately what time Neil and band come on stage? We’re 3 hours away from the venue and due to work schedule we’ll be cutting it close to arrive by 8pm at Bristow VA show. Any info is much appreciated!
Rev Billy & the Stop Shopping Choir opened, start was 7:30, but opener was late around 7:50, played about 25 minutes, NYCH came on right at 8:30

I just remembered, at the moment Neil started singing the lost lyrics of Cortez tK, it started misting pretty heavily, not quite a drizzle, it was quite surreal

Thrasher : Thanks for posting the video. What a cool way to start the tour. Looking forward to July 28th. They should be well oiled by then.
Peace 🙏

@ryan Roel sent me a photo of the merch. Can't see how to post it here. Lots of black tshirts, variations on the new Horse shirt thats for sale in the store.
I sent the photo to Thrasher, in case he wants to post it.
@ Andrew B - got photo and posted. thanx!
ps - also coming soon, Brother Alan reports
yikes: those new old lyrics. I'm thinking that Briggs wisely deleted that section of the song on purpose.
Very similar timing with opening band, 10 minute stage change, Neil comes on about 1 hour after start time, so far.
Feels like Love & Only Love close the show, and the solo stuff is first encore & the Horse comes back for 2nd encore, 3&2 first night, 4&1 second night
@ Art Carey….. actually that verse was lost due to a power outage, but the take was the keeper so they just edited the two existing performances together. I personally think the lost lyrics are a perfect ending to the song. They help seal up the story and connect it all together.
Peace 🙏
So Neil and boys are off on yet another tour - the YouTube videos are great and the team appear in fine fettle. As the tour progresses I will be staying close to YouTube to keep and eye and ear on things. Thanks all the folks who are making the little recordings and sharing. It also seems Neil fever as reached over to Europe or more specifically to France checks this trio out for a fantastic cover of Down By The River. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtvsbPjGIRw

This last comment is hilarious, after 16 tours to and all over Europe and several records that were recorded in their entirety in Europe the "Neil fever has reached over to Europe"? Of course Keith D. wanted to say that the current Neil fever has caught on in Europe. But then it has to be pointed out that there are websites dedicated to Neil Young and his music in German, Spanish and possibly in French language. Neil Young fans across this continent are following the tour news, videos and reports just like their overseas cousins. And of course there are countless bands covering Neil Young songs. The all female band Baskery (see link in Keith's comment) are pretty convincing, thanks for the recommendation, I second that.
